Missing, Malfunctioning, or Inoperative Equipment SL-10-NSP
MMI Component Definition As defined in 14 CFR 60.25, a missing, malfunctioning or inoperative component of the FSTD that is required to be present and correctly operate for the satisfactory completion of that maneuver, procedure, or task. SL-11-NSP
Missing, Malfunctioning, or Inoperative MMI Equipment IAW it is the responsibility of the instructor, check airman, or representative of the administrator conducting training, testing, or checking, to exercise reasonable and prudent judgment to determine if any MMI component is necessary for satisfactory completion of a specific maneuver, procedure, or task SL-12-NSP
Reporting MMI Components Does the discrepancy affect or require a change to the SOQ? Does the discrepancy affect the performance or handling qualities of the FSTD? Does the discrepancy affect the accomplishment of tasks for training, checking, or testing IAW approved training program? If YES to any of the above, the discrepancy should be considered an MMI component. If correction of that component should exceed 30 days, the discrepancy must be reported to the NSP for authorization to operate the FSTD. NSP Guidance Bulletin SL-13-NSP

SL-24-NSP
Common Questions SL-25-NSP
When should an Instructor/TCE write up a sim issue? Should an issue be written up in the logbook if the instructor is able to clear it? What if they have to pick up the phone and call a sim tech to reboot? Should this be logged? Opinion - any discrepancy that causes a training interruption should be logged (not including an instructor error). Reboots should be logged too. SL-26-NSP
