1 SOUTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY H Horse Participation Log The St. Louis County 4-H Horse Project Development Committee has developed a system to promote involvement in 4-H learning. Youth may accumulate points when participating in 4-H events and activities from September 1, 2015 through county fair in July of 2016 using this log. All members of St. Louis County 4-H in grades 3 and up are encouraged to track their participation in the 4-H Horse Project Area but it is not required. 4-H members in all grades should strive to accumulate at least 10 participation points for the year in order to be eligible for high point and other special awards at the County Fair. New 4-H members are urged to do their best in accumulating these points even if they ve joined 4-H late in the year as there are plenty of opportunities to earn points. Participation logs should be turned in when checking in at the County Fair. 4 H GOALS It s helpful to write down what you would like to learn or accomplish in the Horse Project during the year. Please share what your goals are for Name Grade Years in 4-H _ 4 H Goals for this year (what you hope to accomplish in 4 H): Regents of the University of Minnesota. All rights reserved. 2 HOW TO USE THIS PARTICIPATION LOG Points must be documented using this participation log. Because this is a learning experience to develop good record keeping skills, it is recommended that 4-H youth take the responsibility for completing this form with guidance and help from parents or guardians. After you have participated in a meeting or event, please write the details in the appropriate monthly chart. Make sure you include the date, what type of activity it was, where it was held, and the points earned. The Program Coordinator or the person responsible for a workshop can sign off on participation. Documentation for horse club meetings can be verified via sign-in forms.
