1. Written Communication With Your Spirit Guides Written Communication with your guides is not only a great way to communicate, but it also allows you to archive your conversations and hold on to some very valuable information and wisdom. Most people find that they receive more detailed information through the process of writing than they do through telepathy. So if you have detailed questions and a lot of information to be covered, use the Guide Journaling method to communicate, as telepathic communication may be difficult to remember everything you receive. If you find you are receiving a large download of information during telepathic communication, write everything down when you are finished or as it s coming in to you so you don t forget it. You can write to your Spirit Guides using a paper journal and writing by hand, or you can use your computer, ipad, or tablet. I always use the computer to communicate to my guides in writing, because I can t read my own writing, but it s also easier for me to organize my journals and access them later on. 2. Journaling For the Workshop If you choose to write your journals by hand, you will need to transcribe them to the computer because you are going to have to submit them to your instructors through and they must be typed or pasted into the body of the NO attachments. Post your journal only in the body of the . Later you may want to experiment with writing your Guide Journals by hand and see how this changes your ability to receive information from your guides. Some 3

of us receive more clearly when we are handwriting. Some of us receive more fluidly when we type. But if you know that you receive more clearly when you write by hand and you don t mind the extra step of transcribing them so they can be sent to your instructors through , then great. 3. How Many Journals Should I Submit To My Instructor? We request that you submit One Journal per Each Class Assignment to discuss the questions in your weekly assignments with your guides. Although we absolutely encourage you to make the time to journal 2 or 3 times per week for your own personal growth, you can only submit one journal each week for each of the class assignments. We cannot force you to journal, but the Guide Journaling process is an integral part of the workshop experience. The overall purpose of the workshop is to help you develop a profound and lasting connection to your Spirit Guides. The weekly process of journaling works in conjunction with the Guided Journeys in opening your channel and expanding your vibrational frequency. If you choose not to journal you will be missing a wealth of experience and growth. Making the commitment to journal at least once a week will skyrocket your progress. The choice is yours. 4. How Long Should My Journaling Sessions Be? Everyone is on a different schedule with a different amount of daily and weekly responsibilities. The minimum amount of time you should put into each journaling conversation with your Spirit Guides is minutes. Even this minimal amount of time is enough to develop your written communication skills with your guides if you do it often enough and consecutively throughout the eight weeks of the workshop. No matter how busy your schedule is, you can always spare 15 or 20 minutes a week to journal. If you can allocate more time to your journaling process, then by all means do it! When I journal I usually spend at least 20 to 30 minutes, sometimes more. 4

Interacting With Your Journaling instructors Your journaling instructors are here to lovingly serve and support you in your personal development in learning to communicate with your Spirit Guides. You can think of them as guides and angels in human form. Be respectful of their time and honor the love and care that they put into supporting your growth. Once you your journal to your instructor, give your instructor sufficient time to review your journal and respond. Your instructor will generally you back within a week depending on when you have turned your journal in. Please don t abuse the privilege of ing your instructor by bombarding them with multiple s pouring out the saga of your life s drama. Save this for your conversations with your Guides. It is your guides who are here to help you navigate through life by providing you with the best guidance possible that is tailor made just for you your instructors are here to help you communicate more effectively with your guides so you can receive the guidance you need. You will have plenty of time to work with your instructors within the parameters of the weekly class assignments. These assignments are not being graded or judged by your instructors they are only being reviewed to see where you may need additional support or guidance in developing clearer and deeper communication with your Spirit Guides. 5

1. How To Title And Save Your Guide Journal It s important you title your with the essential elements so your instructor can easily identify you and which class assignment you are submitting your journal for. So please use the proper format as it will just make life easier for all involved. The Subject Heading in your should contain: Your Name Name of Document Which Class Assignment. The Subject Heading should look like this: Jordan Smith Guide Journal Class 1 Assignment 2. Formatting Your Journal Conversation With Your Spirit Guides When having a written conversation with your guides, the best way to format the conversation is to use Bold text for your part of the conversation and keep your guide s responses in Regular Text. Your conversation will flow better and your instructor will not be confused by Who is saying What. See the example on page 7. 6

Example Of Proper Journaling Format Jordan Smith - Guide Journal Class 1 Assignment Good morning my guides, it s nice to be here with you today. I only seek the highest truth, even if that truth is outside my current belief system. 1. What do I need to know now in this very moment? Stop feeling like you must compare yourself to others. You do this to mentally gauge your own relative position in the world. You think that if you do not fall within an acceptable range of usefulness, you haven t earned your keep for existing or living here. Be at peace with just being. Allow yourself to find your own rhythm, your own pace. Do not worry that those seemingly passing you by are leaving you behind, and that you must catch up to them. As one leaf among many floating down the river, cherish the stream of your own little stream within the grander flow. 2. How can I be more at peace with myself? Grant yourself the pleasure of making mistakes think of it as fun and enjoyable to make mistakes because mistakes are the greatest fuel for learning. You love learning, and you know that learning should be fun, not a chore or something to dread. So associate mistakes with learning and fun. Shift your attitude! Accept what is now. Become comfortable with where you are in your level of evolution and understanding. Drop the deadlines you set for yourself, and allow yourself to unfurl naturally without anxiety and attachment to a specific schedule or future outcomes. Trust the process will unfold the way that it should, within Divine Right Order and Divine Right Timing. End Of Example 7

The you send to your instructor should look like this: 8

4. When To Format Your Journal Now that you ve seen the example of Proper Journal Formatting for written conversations with your guides, please take note of this You Do Not have to worry or concern yourself with formatting everything perfectly while you are in the process of writing out your conversation. The best way to journal is to just start typing/writing and let everything flow easily and naturally. After you are finished with your journal you can go back and Bold your text and make any spelling corrections. But while in the process of journaling allow yourself to write as quickly as the information is flowing into you. To get involved with formatting and spelling while in the flow of journaling will only distract you and weaken your connection. So save your formatting for afterwards. 1. Getting Started As we already discussed, it s best to type your journal on the computer. You can write your journal in any blank Word-type document and then copy and paste it into your , or you can write your journal directly in the itself. A. Before you begin writing call your guides in as a team and wait until you feel their presence before you begin. They may say they re here and ready to go, or you may simply feel their energy. Once you feel their presence, begin writing. B. Begin by titling your document with the proper heading: Full Name Guide Journal Class Assignment # (1, 2, 3, etc.) C. Before you begin typing out your questions, you should make this statement of intent to your guides: I only seek the highest truth, even if that truth is outside my current belief system. You can speak this verbally, communicate 9

it telepathically, or simply write it down in your Guide Journal under your journal heading before you begin your conversation. D. After you place your intention, type out your first question from the Class Assignment and let the information from your guides begin to flow into your awareness. As soon as you feel the information flowing in, begin typing out everything that you hear, feel, sense your guides saying. 2. Allowing The Flow Make sure you have no distractions while you journal. Silence is best, but some people may like to have a little music playing in the background, but nothing overpowering or distracting. It s important to Trust and to Know that the information will come to you. Whether it flows in quickly or slowly makes no difference just let it flow. Do not analyze the information or try to rationalize it while typing or writing. It is your divine birthright to communicate with spirit and receive guidance, everyone can do this it s as easy as talking with a friend. Remember that this is not really a question and answer session, it s really more of a dialogue, a conversation. So engage in conversation allow the energy to flow back and forth between you and your guides. This is not a channeling session where you are just receiving information, it is a conversation. So when your guides respond, you should respond back appropriately and authentically. 3. Going Deeper There is no need to feel timid with your guides. They are here to serve you and you are the boss! Yes, you should be as respectful as you would be to anyone else, but learn to take control. You are the one who is living in this 3D reality and you are the one who must make all final decisions of what to do with your life 10

from moment to moment. But the better informed you are the easier those decisions will be. The universe meets you at the level you show up! So if you find you are getting somewhat vague responses from your guides and you are seeking clearer guidance, then step up your game and take control by getting clearer in your conversation. Ask more specific questions and you will get more specific responses. Don t be afraid to dig deeper. Having an honest in depth conversation with your guides is what your guides are longing for as it is how they can serve you best! 4. Are You Making It All Up Or Is It Real? This is not something you should even be concerned about when you journal. The best way to create a good flow of conversation between you and your guides is to just let it happen! Most of what will flow into you during your Guide Journaling is authentic. The key is to let it flow let everything in! There may be a small percentage of information that is coming in from your ego, personality mind, your limiting beliefs, or fear, but you DO NOT want to cut off the flow while you are in the process of journaling just let it all come through. If you stop to rationalize what you are receiving you stop the flow. As you continue to develop your relationship with your guides you will raise your vibration and the authenticity of the information grows stronger. After you finish journaling you can always go back and ask your guides about a specific piece of information you received that may not feel authentic to you and ask if it was coming from you or them and they will tell you. 5. Trusting Yourself And The Guidance You need to KNOW that you have an innate ability to receive accurate and authentic guidance by merely asking for it! You have already been receiving 11

guidance from the day you were born you just haven t been that aware of it. After working with thousands of people, I can honestly say that I have never met a single person who was not capable of receiving wonderful guidance. Trusting in your own ability to do this is a key component in being relaxed enough to allow the guidance to simply flow into you in an easy and effortless manner. Over time as you continue to ACT on the guidance you receive, you will see that it always serves you in the best possible way, and this will build your trust in yourself and your guides. Once in a while things may not play out exactly the way your guides said they would. When and if this happens, simply go back to your guides and ask them to explain what happened. You will most likely find out that the energy had shifted in the situation, or that you may have misinterpreted the guidance you received. If this happens, all you need to do is to formulate a new plan of action with your guides. Nothing is ever set in stone and wherever one opportunity may seem to be lost you can always create a new one. 6. When You Don t Receive a Response Sometimes this happens when we are too preoccupied or too lost in thoughts of past circumstance and events, or simply too distracted. Since our energy and our vibrational frequency is constantly shifting from moment to moment, the best thing to do is to walk away. Go and do something else and put your attention and focus on something different, preferably something you really enjoy. Take a walk, go for a run, read a book, listen to music, have sex, meditate, take a nap, do some cooking then come back to your journal later on or even the next day. It s not something to stress out over, it happens to everyone from time to time. 12

7. Where And When To Journal You can journal anywhere, even at Starbucks if that s your thing. But preferably an environment where you feel comfortable and will not be disturbed by. If you already have an area in your home that is like your little sanctuary, then use that. If not, then you may want to create a specific space for this. The best time to journal is when your mind is not preoccupied and is free and clear from worry or stress. Morning and evening are usually good times before you start your day or at the end of the day when you have nothing more to accomplish. For some people structure is important if this is you, then choose a time of day that works well for you and stick to that so it s easier for you to develop a habit of journaling at the same daily time. But honestly, any time you communicate with your guides is a good time! And if you need guidance when you are stressed out, then seek it! Ask for help and find out how you can best relieve your stress for the current moment. Your first journal submission should be sent to: journals@gilalan.com - once your first journal is received, our support staff will assign an instructor to you and forward your submission to your instructor. Your instructor will review your journal and you back from their assigned address. From that point on you will send your journal submissions directly to your instructor at the same address they sent their reply to you from. 13

For the purpose of this workshop your journaling will be based on a series of questions we give you to discuss with your guides in each class assignment. But I wanted to include my own very first Guide Journal so you can get a good idea of how easily the information can flow in a very conversational manner no matter what the topic of conversation is. Keep in mind that although this was my very first Guide Journal, I had already been doing written channels for others for a while before I began using my guides to serve me in my own life. Gil s Sample Guide Journal: Gil Alan - Guide Journal June 23, 2009 Why does it seem to be so difficult to connect to spirit and receive answers? Trust and awareness. You receive what you perceive. The more you trust the more your senses are able to receive, and the more you trust the more open your awareness becomes which enables you to better perceive and interpret what you are receiving. How do I learn to trust more fully? Give in to that which is. Stay in the now and accept what is being transmitted to you. It may be subtle but do not discount the information. Let it flow and take everything in. If something is unclear to you then ask for it to be made clearer for your understanding. Just as in conversation with any being, interpret what you 14

can, then ask for further clarification on that which you do not understand or fully grasp. The more you practice this, the more you will get the hang of it and it will become a natural state of conversation or receiving for you. Therefore, the more natural it becomes, the more you will trust. It s a bit of a catch 22 situation, so you must continue to put forth your trust as much as possible in the beginning even if you do not fully buy into it at first, or feel comfortable. And as you have told others before if you have to fake it until you make it, then so be it. You re doing fine so far keep on doing what you re doing J What about mediumship, why do I have trouble seeing the dead when I am talking directly to a client as opposed to just talking to the dead alone? This is something that also comes with practice. Sometimes the information is so very subtle that if you are not fully focused or open to the spirit you may be missing the contact. Some spirits are more gentle, quiet, or shy, and may not come forth in an overwhelming way. They may actually be there, but if you do not recognize them at first then you will be unable to coax them out more fully to answer questions or have them deliver messages to you. They need to trust in you as well which is done through Guides, but you need to recognize that they are there and available. You can ask the guides for a stronger recognition process, meaning that you can ask them to help you tune in for a clearer view or feeling of who is there. This can be done silently; it does not have to be done aloud. Asking spirits to be present before a reading will help as well. Let them know that this is also new to you and you need their help in recognizing their energy so you can tell they are present. They are eager to interact, so let them know you need help and they will do their best to present a stronger energy field, as well as have their guides assist them and you. 15

Once again keep doing what you are doing, It is going well, and better than you think. Give yourself some breathing room and allow the natural process to unfold. All things in perfect time. Why does it seem difficult to meditate, to remain free of thoughts in my mind? You are funny, Gil. You give us much amusement. It is again a process of yielding and letting it flow. The mind as you already know is ruled by the ego and the ego loves to be in charge and does not like to be shoved into a corner when told to be quiet. Your mind will constantly find new things to chatter about and tempt you into thinking about when you ask it to be still. This is something you must practice frequently. It takes new habits to break or replace old habits. As you journey down the road of meditation you will find it easier and easier to quiet the mind and to focus in an open and clear space and to just allow. With 30 to 60 days of continual daily meditation you will begin to see a big difference in your ability to be in the now and to stay receptive to messages. You might want to try also doing an extra meditation in the evening right before you go to sleep. This can also help your dream state and keep you more receptive to messages through your dreams and also help you to remember more of your dreams. Why is it that some spirits come to me on their own without me trying to contact them at all? Because they see you are sensitive and caring and will go to great lengths to deliver their messages as desired to the appropriate people. Their guides see that you are receptive and willing, and that you are the closest contact as an open channel to the people they want to deliver messages to - so they open up a channel of communication and if you take the bait, they run with it. 16

We know that you want this and are receptive so we will facilitate you as a channel to those in need when it is appropriate. Always make sure your intent is as pure as possible to deliver the message as intended. Spirit will appreciate this and will work harder to clarify things for you. How will all of this help me to grow? Have you not seen this already? We smile and embrace this question as we respond. Your heart is everything. Open your awareness and you open your heart Open your heart and you access the divine power of the universe. Being of service to others is to build and understand compassion from many different angles and perspectives of opportunity. Being of service is an opportunity to learn about yourself through others. The only true things that matter are the connections you make with others because they are all reflections of self. So they are really pockets of information about you. The more information about yourself that you are able to decode, the closer you come to your true divinity. Nothing opens the heart s capacity greater than doing something for another being. You can and will always learn more about yourself through being a compassionate soul. And this is the key to understanding who you are and how you tick. Knowing one s self is the key to everything. And accepting one s self is what allows you to grow. Being in this space allows you to fully create your reality. It allows you to be an observer as well as a participant and this is where you gain the insight, perspective, and wisdom to see how you can change anything you want to change, to create anything you want to create it gives you an open window to move through. You are tired you should rest J 17

Why do I seem to get tired so easily lately? You exert a great deal of energy in processing. You are in the process of changing your reality and as with anything else, it takes energy to change form and process and transform. Does it not take energy to build a house, or to train for a marathon? When you open yourself up to self-examination and set forth to raise your awareness, your entire vibrational frequency is expanding through a constant push-pull sensation and this can be draining. This will level off after a while but in the beginning it is more taxing on your mind and body as your infinite self is becoming more and more present from day to day. Yes we know you think it should be easier, but it is all relative to what you are accustomed to. So as you continue to move through this process it will not be as draining as you are currently experiencing. Remember when you first started to work out at the gym on a regular basis? You were constantly exhausted because your body was not used to the regular amount of exercise it was currently beginning to experience. But as you continued down the path, it soon became something that your body not only grew accustomed to, but needed and craved in order to feel balanced. This is very similar to what is happening when you are in the process of expanding your awareness. It is a process and it comes in steps. One step before the other, building upon each previous step and new level of awareness you attain. Nothing ever comes overnight except FedEx! Now do you understand? We know that you do. You should rest Is this information coming from my guides or just my higher self? Does it matter? How does a caterpillar become a butterfly? He simply accepts his destiny. J Don t force it No more for today. We love you. 18

If you have any questions about the Guide Journaling process you can send your inquiries to: Your Guide Journaling should not be looked upon as a chore this is an incredible opportunity for you to receive the guidance and wisdom that will transform your life. Have fun with it and enjoy this amazing connection! Gil Alan All Rights Reserved 19
