The milestones listed to the right of each semester are designed to keep a student on track to graduate in four years. As a student in the College of Business (COB), you are expected to maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of Accounting majors may not have any D s in the major field. Students who incur a probationary status are to repeat failed courses, or courses in which D s were earned, during the semester immediately following that in which the grades were earned. 4 Employment Information: Students with this degree will have the necessary educational requirements for the CMA and CIA exams and will have earned at least 120 hours of the 150 hours needed to sit for the CPA exam. Students may earn the remaining hours needed for the CPA exam by obtaining a Master s Degree in Accounting or other graduate degrees, such as a Master of Business Administration, or by taking additional undergraduate classes. Students should consult with their advisors and their State Boards of Accountancy for the exact requirements. This concentration is designed for students who prefer to acquire broad undergraduate training in business, rather than specializing in a specific area. Opportunities for career advancements exist for experienced individuals with varied work exposures in all areas of business including-but not limited to- management, human resources, finance, economics, accounting and business information systems. Students choose courses that emphasize their specific work areas of interest in business or that correlate to their years of prior work experience before completing their degrees in General Business. Their educational preparation is flexibly designed to meet students intended work emphasis. Business majors must maintain an overall TSU Cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.-A GPA of at least 2.0 in the upper division business core, and a GPA of at least 2.0 in the ten courses (30 credit hours) being used to satisfy the major field plus upper division business elective course requirements. In today's world Electronic Business, also known as "e-business" is extremely important for the success of many businesses. E-Business is defined as the utilization of information and communication technologies (ICT) in support of all the activities of business. Commerce constitutes the exchange of products and services between businesses, groups and individuals and hence e-commerce can be seen as one of the essential activities of any business. The BBA in Business Information Systems E-Business Technology Concentration degree presents a course of study that deals with business processes that span the entire value chain: electronic purchasing and supply chain management, processing orders electronically, handling customer service, and cooperating with business partners. Students study the special technical standards for e-business to facilitate the exchange of data between companies. They also learn the use and development of E-business applications that allow the integration of intra and inter firm business processes. E-business can be conducted using the web, the internet, intranets, extranets, or some combination of these. The BBA in BIS E-Business Technology concentration program consists of 120 semester hours that comprises of General Education (36 semester hours), Lower Division Business Core (18 hours) Upper Division Business Core (27 hours), BIS courses (30 hours), and Non-Business Electives (9 hours).
