No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certificate requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement. Nil Events are diverse in nature and are organised and administered in many different industry contexts. The underpinning principles of event management are consistent across these contexts and this unit is designed to apply to a broad range of events. It has particular relevance in the creative, hospitality, sport and tourism sectors within venues, event management organisations and professional conference organisers. Registration processing and monitoring requires underpinning clerical and administrative skills combined with knowledge of specific event administration procedures. This function is undertaken by individuals working according to broader event management procedures and under guidance from others. An individual achieving this unit would be expected to have a broad understanding of general event administration processes and principles to enable the transfer of skills across a range of different event types. The required outcomes described in this unit of competency contain applicable facets of employability skills. The Employability Skills Summary of the qualification in which this unit of competency is packaged, will assist in identifying employability skill requirements. Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit Context of and specific resources for assessment Methods of assessment Assessing employability skills Evidence of the following is essential: ability to accurately process registration information and to produce accurate attendance reports and related documentation knowledge of administration systems and procedures for recording and reporting Assessment must ensure: project or work activities are conducted over a period of time to allow the candidate to demonstrate registration processing and monitoring for an event use of industry current systems and technology. A range of assessment methods should be used to assess practical skills and knowledge. The following examples are appropriate for this unit: review of documentation and reports prepared by the candidate in preparation for an event Employability skills are integral to effective performance in the workplace and are broadly consistent across industry sectors. How these skills are applied varies between occupations and qualifications due to the different work functions and contexts. 2 Critical aspects for assessment and evidence required to demonstrate competency in this unit cont/d event attendance demonstration of skills in registration processing and monitoring for more than one event production of work within commercial workplace time constraints. Methods of assessment cont/d evaluation of reports prepared by the candidate on the administrative process for an event, including challenges and responses written or oral questioning to assess knowledge of event administration procedures and material formats review of portfolios of evidence and third party workplace reports of on the job performance by the candidate. Holistic assessment with other units relevant to the industry sector, workplace and job role is recommended. 4 1 Process registration information. 1.1 Identify and confirm mechanism for recording registration information in consultation with appropriate colleagues. Opportunities to participate in registration processing and monitoring procedures for a range of event styles. Knowledge of types of event registration recordkeeping systems including: electronic manual. A knowledge of workplace/organisation standard turnaround times. 1.3 Use appropriate features of technology to maximise work efficiency and speed. An understanding of the function, operation and safe use of commonly used office equipment and consumables. Selection and use of various office equipment appropriate for the task to be undertaken. 1.4 Organise all registration information in a clear and logical way. Knowledge of workplace/organisation procedures for maintaining and updating records. An understanding of the need for updated and accurate records to maintain system integrity.
