Fund drive for the reconstruction of a 110 Cu. Ft. downdraft kiln Designed and constructed stoneware and salt downdraft kilns for the SSAC Ceramic Department Coordinated a $2,000. Fund drive for Ceramic Department equipment 1986 Assisted the and the University of Texas, S.A., in co-hosting the National Conference on the Education of the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) in San Antonio Helped design and supervise the construction of the present 5,000 sq. ft. physical plant that houses the ceramic and sculpture departments. Designed and constructed; two 100 cu. Ft. downdraft kilns, one 60 cu. Ft. downdraft kiln and one 15 cu. 3 Page 3 Commissions: Sarah Steves, Richard & Elizabeth Dorrell, Grant & Bonnie Lyons, David Hartman (Private Collections) organized and collaborated with 14 artists to produce 9 ft. ceramic totem poles that were made up of 15 to 20 individual pieces assembled for each pole. These pieces were made to be installed as outdoor and indoor presentations at their homes in Austin, San Antonio and Dallas. These commissions were used as a fund raiser for Ceramic Department equipment Edwards Underground Water District/Jones Kell Architects Designed and produced 7 panels, 7 ft. long x 8 in. wide of hand made and textured glazed c/10 tiles, installed on the exterior of the Edwards Underground Water District building Our Lady of the Lake University/Jones Kell Architects Commissioned mural consisting of 450 handmade tiles, 9 in. x 9 in., as a fundraising event for the construction of the Fitness and Wellness Center at Our Lady of the Lake University Commissioned by the City of S.A. produced 300 earthenware tiles depicting the River Walk of San Antonio to be given to the Cultural Ambassadors of San Antonio s sister city Kumamoto, Japan Castle Hills First Baptist Church/Jones Kell Architects Designed and produced 7 Raku platters, 24 in. diameter, portraying the 7 days of creation National Bank of Commerce Commissioned 150 Raku tea bowls as gifts for their major depositors.
