1 FORM 10C INFORMATION SHEET FOR INTERNATIONAL/REFUGEE POSTGRADUATE (HOURS, MASTERS & DOCTORAL) STUDENTS Level 3 Otto Beit Building Upper Campus Rondebosch 7700 CRITERIA AND FUNDING ELIGIBILITY A limited number of scholarships are available to graduates who are not South African citizens. These are awarded on a competitive basis and preference is given to senior candidates. All UCT International and Refugee Students' Scholarships are supplementary. Students who apply must have the means to fund their studies. The scholarships are renewable, for two years at master's level and three years at doctoral level, if satisfactory progress is maintained. Honours scholarships are not renewable. Applicants must apply for full-time admission through the UCT Admissions Office or the Faculty Office. Late applications are not accepted. UCT has a limited amount of funding to provide financial support towards the cost for full-time international and refugee postgraduate students. It is important to note that the University of Cape Town: Does not guarantee that any applicant will receive funding, Does not undertake to provide full-cost funding to successful applicants Strongly advises applicants to secure sufficient funding from external sources Will not considered this application unless an application for study has been made INELIGIBILITY FOR FUNDING Students who will register for the 4 th year of a Bachelors degree, HDE, LLB, Postgraduate Certificates, Diplomas, Part- Time and or Occasional study ARE INELIGIBLE TO APPLY for awards linked to this Application Form and is referred to the Undergraduate Student Financial Aid Office. Funding your Postgraduate Studies at UCT (brochure) The Postgraduate Centre, situated next door to the Postgraduate Funding Office, w as created to promote the interests of postgraduate students in synergy with faculty and departmental facilities and services, and to encourage inter-departmental and inter-faculty communication and association. This suite of rooms, a University heritage site, has been extensively renovated and furnished to provide an exclusive, attrac tive and comfortable environment for Masters and Doctoral students and Postdoctoral Research Fellow s to meet, read, use the internet stations, and to hold seminars. The Centre offers a fully equipped seminar room seating up to 45 people, and a reading room w ith comfortable chairs and provision of current newspapers, magazines and journals.
