Brooks Patterson s Oakland County Elite 40 Under 40, a distinction given to the top leaders of the county under 40 years of age. PLACEMENT ASSISTANCE The Bingo Institute of Grooming, LLC. offers several opportunities for students throughout the program to gain experience with area pet businesses. Each student will complete a 15 hour externship with a local veterinary clinic, 15 hour externship with a dog daycare/boarding facility, and a 4 week externship with a local grooming salon. All of these offer opportunities to gain experience, knowledge, and network with potential employers. The school also keeps an up to date database of local and some national job listings. If you have an area you are looking to move to, let us know, and we can help research jobs in the local area. GRADING SYSTEM Students are graded on a scale of 0 to 100 on all exams, attendance, and basic skills. Some of the advanced techniques are based on a pass/fail basis. Assignments that are not completed are graded as incomplete. No grade is given for incomplete assignments. The Bingo Institute of Grooming, LLC. is set up to teach pet grooming. Unlike professional grooming, set to standards of the American Kennel Club and other national organizations, we teach how to groom dogs for client maintenance and practicality. Breed standards will be taught and are expected to know, as well as popular client terms like puppy cut, which have not standardization. Student/Client conversation is encouraged and will be taught. Students should minimize their recommendations to clients, until their knowledge base is strong, however it is never too early to learn client interaction. Students should NEVER contradict an instructor, or speak down about a pet s behavior, condition, or looks. Instead, learn how to approach conversation with positive comments and speak professionally about clients Bingo Institute of Grooming, LLC. 5
