10 3. Studying Management, Ecology and Ethics? The direct influence of academic education on sustainable development seems to be rather small. There might be some influence in the long run. Focus on challenges for education: Related courses of study?

21 5. Conclusions: 1. Academic Education has only small influence on sustainable development in the short run, maybe some influence in the long run. 2. In Germany about 2% of lectures of a typical course of management studies (bachelor and master level) at universities of applied sciences deal with ethics and sustainability.
