10 Summary : I currently practice as a Refractive Surgeon in Optical Express performing more than 4000 procedures each year, mostly Lasik, Lasek, PTK, Corneal Cross Linking, Corneal Inlays (Intacs),Yag Laser etc. I am also responsible for the Complex Cases Clinics, both in Manchester and London (Harley St.), dealing with complicated cases after surgery such as corneal ectasia, chronic dryness, decentered ablations etc. In October 2014, I was awarded the Certificate of Laser Refractive Surgery by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. I also work at Community Health and Eye Care Ltd. which is a company that treats NHS patients. The main duties of the role include consultations in general ophthalmology, glaucoma, medical retina, minor surgical procedures (YAG Laser, Eyelid lesions, etc.). My current and previous professional roles have also given me a strong background in general ophthalmology and corneal surgery. I am also familiar and well versed with clinical governance and clinical audit, as I have been medical director of an ophthalmology service as well as of an ophthalmology clinic. Throughout my career I have been involved in clinical trials and clinical research projects which can be seen in my list of publications. I also enjoy teaching other junior colleagues and sharing my experience through various presentations at international meeting and training sessions. Dr. Antonio Uceda CV 10
