1 WASHINGTON COUNTY VETERANS SERVICES 2015 ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2014 In Honor of Wisconsin s Iraq Veterans Mission Statement The Veteran s Office primary mission is to assist those Washington County veterans and their families, in obtaining State or Federal veteran s benefits to which each veteran is entitled due to his/her active military service.

3 Accomplishments 2014 Continued outreach, participated in Senior Conference at the Washington County Fair Park. Provided feedback to WDVA on web based applications used in administering state veterans benefits. During calendar year 2014, State and Federal VA Program Activity: $20.8 Million in Compensation/Pension/Insurance $25.6 Million in VA Home Loans $20, in State Programs Goals and Objectives 2015 Provide direct outreach to returning Iraq/Afghanistan veterans. Continue to participate in those events that are most beneficial to our veterans when resources permit. Washington County Veteran Fact Sheet 2014 County Veteran population (est): 9,264 (USDVA) VA Compensation, Pension, and Insurance. $20.8 Million. (USDVA) VA Home Loan Activity: $25.6 Million (USDVA) State Home Loan, Personal Loans, Home Improvement Loans, Education Grants, and Substinence Grants: $20, (WDVA) County Veteran Service Commission Grants to veterans and families: $2, Current number of residents at State Veterans Home: 6 (WDVA) Number of veterans buried within county borders: 5,155 (93 cemeteries with Veterans buried; out of 137 cemeteries within the county) Number of county veterans buried in State Veterans Cemetery Union Grove since inception: 194 (WDVA)

The actual number of applications/requests will vary based on many factors and should not reflect on the success or failure of programs.
