6 EVOLUTION POLICY SUMMARY (continued) SIGNIFICANT AND UNUSUAL EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS: Your policy excludes some situations. Please refer to your policy wording for full details, but the most significant or unusual exclusions and limitations are outlined below. You will be responsible for the first part of any claim this is known as the Excess. The Excess will be shown on your Schedule and can be advised to you by your insurance adviser. If your vehicle is damaged while a young or inexperienced person (including you) is driving, or is in charge of the vehicle, you will have to pay an additional amount, as well as the Excess. Refer to Section 15 Excess for young or inexperienced drivers (including for the additional amounts). Damage to or loss of your vehicle or its accessories when your vehicle is left unattended unless all ignition keys are removed from the vehicle and all doors, windows and other openings are closed and locked so that your vehicle is fully secured. Refer to Exception M under the Exceptions for Sections 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Any liability to others, or loss or damage to any vehicle covered by this insurance when the vehicle is being driven in an unsafe, unroadworthy or damaged condition or does not have a valid MOT certificate when needed. Refer to General Exception 7 Driving, in charge of or using a vehicle. Any liability to others, or loss or damage to any vehicle covered by this insurance when the vehicle is carrying a load or a number of passengers which is unsafe or greater than the manufacturer s specifications. Refer to General Exceptions 8 and 9 Driving, in charge of or using a vehicle. Loss or damage when your vehicle is left unattended if the last person in charge of your vehicle before the loss or damage happened is not shown on your certificate of motor insurance as allowed to drive. Refer to Exception L under the Exceptions for Sections 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Section 2 Driving other cars, may be excluded for some drivers. Please refer to your insurance adviser for confirmation of cover. Loss or Damage in respect of theft or attempted theft of your vehicle may be excluded unless your vehicle is kept in a locked and secured building and your vehicle is a) at your private dwelling place; or b) at any other address specifically agreed by us; and if your vehicle is kept within one half-mile radius of a) or b). Please refer to your insurance adviser for confirmation of cover. Your policy cover may be inoperative and of no effect if your vehicle is driven in excess of the annual mileage you have disclosed at the inception or renewal of your policy. Please refer to your insurance adviser for confirmation of cover. Loss or damage in respect of theft or attempted theft of your vehicle may be excluded if you have an alarm, immobiliser or tracking device fitted to your vehicle and it is not operative. Please refer to your insurance adviser for confirmation of cover. 4

7 MOTOR BREAKDOWN SUMMARY MOTOR BREAKDOWN COVER The following summary for Motor Breakdown Cover does not contain the full terms and conditions of your breakdown policy contract. For a full explanation of the terms and conditions, please refer to the policy wording. COVER Standard Breakdown Home Assist European Assist COMPREHENSIVE, THIRD PARTY FIRE AND THEFT AND THIRD PARTY ONLY Included on ALL Family Motor Fleet policies Roadside assistance and recovery (if breakdown occurs more than one mile from your home within the UK) for your vehicle, you and up to 6 passengers to the nearest garage for repair, or your home or intended destination. Optional Provides Standard Breakdown cover if breakdown occurs at home address or within one mile of home address. Optional Provides Standard Breakdown cover if breakdown occurs in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland for a maximum of 90 days per year. SIGNIFICANT AND UNUSUAL EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS: Your policy excludes some situations. Please refer to your policy wording for full details, but the most significant or unusual exclusions and limitations are outlined below. We will not pay for the cost of parts, components or materials used to repair the vehicle. The cost of alternative transport other than to your destination and a return trip to collect your repaired vehicle. The recovery of the vehicle and passengers if repairs can be carried out at or near the scene of the breakdown within the same working day. If recovery takes effect we will only recover to one address in respect of any one breakdown. Overnight accommodation or car hire charges if repairs can be carried out at or near the scene of the breakdown within an agreed time. Where service cannot be effected because the vehicle does not carry a serviceable spare wheel, aerosol repair kit, appropriate jack, or the locking mechanisms for the wheels are not immediately available to remove the wheels. Any request for service if the vehicle is being used for motor racing, rallies, public hire, private hire, courier services or any contest or speed trial or practice for any of these activities. Any damage to your vehicle or its contents whilst being recovered, stored or repaired and any liability or consequential loss arising from any act performed in the execution of the assistance services provided. Any caravan/trailer where the total length exceeds 7 metres (23 feet) recovered with the vehicle if the vehicle cannot be repaired roadside, and where it is not attached to the vehicle with a standard towing hitch. Any vehicle in excess of 3,175kg (3.5 tonnes) in weight. Any vehicle more than 5.18 metres (17 feet) long, metres (7 feet 6 inches) wide and 2.44 metres (8 feet) high. Any breakdown occurring within 24 hours of commencement of the period of insurance. Any more than six call-outs within the period of insurance. Claims totalling more than 15,000 in any one period of insurance. 5

8 MOTOR LEGAL PROTECTION SUMMARY The following summary for Motor Legal Protection does not contain the full terms and conditions of your legal protection policy contract. For a full explanation of the terms and conditions, please refer to the policy wording. COVER Motor Legal Protection COMPREHENSIVE, THIRD PARTY FIRE AND THEFT AND THIRD PARTY ONLY Included on ALL Family Motor Fleet policies Legal costs of up to 50,000 per claim are covered to pursue compensation in respect of uninsured losses incurred and/or personal injury sustained as a result of a motor accident arising as a result of another person s negligence. Legal advice service available between 9.00am to 5.00pm Mondays to Fridays (excluding bank holidays) on (freephone from all devices). This insurance covers the legal costs incurred by Lyons Davidson Solicitors (the Legal Expenses Insurance Adviser) who acts on our behalf. The insured is not covered for any other legal representatives costs unless court proceedings are started. For a claim to be covered there must be reasonable prospects of a successful outcome. Claims must be notified as soon as reasonably possible. Legal advice is available on motor related matters only. 6

9 IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOUR CONTRACT Your policy will run for 12 months and is renewable on an annual basis. MAKING A CLAIM MOTOR INSURANCE ACCIDENT OR LOSS Oak Underwriting and Chaucer Insurance will provide you with an understanding approach if you are unfortunate enough to suffer an accident or loss. You should report immediately any accident or loss under the policy to: Chaucer Insurance Prospect House Chaucer Business Park Thanet Way Whitstable Kent CT5 3FD T: (freephone from all devices) outside the UK When calling to report an accident or loss, please provide your policy number and full details of the accident or loss, including the date, potential costs and circumstances of the accident or loss. MAKING A CLAIM MOTOR INSURANCE: BROKEN OR DAMAGED GLASS To make a windscreen or glass claim, please ring the 24 hour Chaucer Glassline and have your certificate of insurance available. If your windscreen or glass is repaired whilst outside the UK please write to us at the address above with full details of the incident that caused the damage, together with the date, time and location of the incident and remember to include the invoice for the repair or replacement. MAKING A CLAIM MOTOR BREAKDOWN If your vehicle suffers a breakdown in the UK please call our 24 hour Control Room and have the following information available for the Rescue Controller (who will use this to validate your policy): Your return telephone number with area code Your vehicle registration The precise location of your vehicle (or as accurate as you are able to in the circumstances). T: from within the UK or if you are unable to make a connection if your vehicle breaks down in Europe (please check your policy cover). Please remember to guard your safety at all times but remain with or near your vehicle until our Recovery Operator arrives. Once our Recovery Operator arrives at the scene, please be guided by their safety advice. MAKING A CLAIM MOTOR LEGAL PROTECTION To make a Motor Legal Protection claim you should call us immediately on the following number: T: (freephone from all devices). Unless a conflict of interests arises, you are not covered for legal fees incurred before Court Proceedings are issued unless you use our legal expenses insurance advisers. YOUR CANCELLATION RIGHTS We hope you are happy with the cover this policy provides. However, you have the right to cancel it within 14 days of receiving the policy documents or the start of the policy (whichever is later) without giving any reasons. If that happens, we will refund your premium, first deducting a charge for the cover provided from the beginning of the contract until the policy is cancelled. 7

10 IMPORTANT INFORMATION (continued) CANCELLING YOUR POLICY This insurance may also be cancelled in the following circumstances: We or your insurance adviser can send you seven days notice to your last known address. If you return the certificate of motor insurance to us, we will refund the part of your premium which applies to the period of the insurance you have left. If we or your insurance adviser cancel this insurance because you have not paid the full premium, we will work out the refund using the rates shown below. We will not give a refund if anyone has claimed in the current insurance period. You can cancel this insurance after the initial period of cover set out under Your cancellation rights by sending back your certificate of motor insurance and schedule to us or your insurance adviser. If you have not made any claims or notified us of an incident that may lead to a claim in the current period of insurance, and you are not going to make a claim, we will work out a charge for the time you have been covered, or the minimum premium as shown on your schedule, whichever is the greatest, using our short-period rates shown below. We will refund any amount we owe you. Period of time you have had the cover, up to: Refund of premium One month 80% Two months 70% Three months 50% Four to five months 40% Six months 30% Seven months 20% More than seven months 0% These short period rates will not apply when an individual vehicle is deleted and the policy remains in force for the remaining vehicles. A proportion of your premium will be refunded based on the time left until your policy is due to expire. A refund will not be given if those vehicles have been involved in any accident or reported claim during the same period of insurance or for Specialist Vehicles and Motorcycles, as shown in your schedule. 8
