1 Employee Testing and Assessment Catalog This catalog provides an overview of many of the most popular testing solutions we offer through MSEC for pre-employment screening purposes. It is important to note that this testing catalog is not comprehensive please contact us if you do not see a test that meets your needs. 3 Testing Packages more than one type of test included Category Test Name Industry (if applicable) Descriptions # of Items Personality, Cognitive Ability, and Attitudes (integrity) tests PeopleClues Over 90 different job categories available. The PeopleClues assessment measures an individual's personality, cognitive reasoning and attitudes (integrity). The personality assessment contains six subscales measuring conscientiousness, cooperative/agreeable, conventional, extroversion, stability, and teamwork. Personality results are benchmarked against one of over 90 job profiles. The general reasoning scale measures problem solving and learning speed. Attitude items contain six major subscales including: dependability, hostility, substance abuse concerns, honesty concerns, computer abuse concerns, and sexual harassment concerns. Sample interview questions based on responses to the items are provided for the personality and attitude portions. The Occupational Solution assessment is available for a number of different industries/positions (see listing to the left). The assessment measures a candidate s potential fit for the role by assessing two areas critical for effective performance--- cognitive ability and work style. The actual items vary by position but generally measure dimensions such as Achievement/Effort, Initiative, Cooperation, Social Orientation, Dependability, Critical Thinking, Attention to Detail and Adaptability/Flexibility

The DPI is integrated with the US Department of Labor s O*NET database, where critical data about job requirements including work style demands - is collected annually. Existing job profiles can be searched here: Additionally, the DeGarmo Personality Requirements Form (DPRF) is a short, job-analytic survey that can be used to create custom profiles based on client-specific occupation data. An additional leadership report, called the Leadership Potential Report (see below), is available as well. The Workplace Personality Inventory assesses sixteen work styles or work-related personality traits that have been shown to be important to job success in a wide range of occupations. It is comprised of 198 rating scale items and can be completed in 30 minutes. The Workplace Personality Inventory is suitable for both selection and development. Based upon the O*NET Work Styles taxonomy, it is designed to describe the personality requirements of a wide range of jobs. An additional leadership report (see below) is available as well. The 16PF Questionnaire is a comprehensive measure of normal adult personality that assesses 16 personality dimensions and is based on more than 60 years of research. It is comprised of 185 multiple choice items and takes approximately 40 minutes to complete. It is suitable for both selection and development and is normed on a stratified random sample of more than 10,000 adults based upon the 2000 U.S Census. The 16PF Questionnaire assesses 16 Primary Factors, 5 Global Factors (Extraversion, Anxiety, Tough-Mindedness, Independence & Self-Control), and 3 response style indices (Impression Management, Infrequency, & Acquiescence). Different reporting options are available including an Interpretive Report (with Holland's Occupational Interest information), a Competency Report (including work-related competency information), a Career Development Report (strengths/weaknesses for development), and a Management Potential Report (see below). Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) is a Five Factor personality assessment specifically designed for use in business settings. The HPI provides a comprehensive, business-based assessment of personality specifically designed to predict occupational success that can be used for both selection and development. Traits measured include Adjustment, Ambition, Sociability, Interpersonal Sensitivity, Prudence, Inquisitive, & Learning Approach

Composed of 140 items and written at a sixth-grade reading level, the SalesAP can be completed in less than 20 minutes by most applicants. SalesAP reports on several dimensions integral to the sales role: Sales Disposition, Initiative-Cold Calling, Sales Closing, Customer Service/Inside Sales, Achievement, Motivation, Competitiveness, Goal Orientation, Planning, Initiative-General, Teamwork, Managerial, Assertiveness, Personal Diplomacy, Extroversion, Cooperativeness, Relaxed Style, Patience, Self- Confidence, & Managerial

6 Personality Tests Management and Leadership Test Name Description # of items DeGarmo Leadership Potential Report (L4) The DeGarmo Leadership Potential Report, the L4, is a report available based on the results of the DPI (described above). The L4 provides valuable insight into understanding applicant and employee leadership potential. The scale is anchored by four critical components of transformational leadership including: Consideration, Influence, Motivation, and Stimulation. This understanding provides measurable insight into your future leaders by identifying how they will lead and what drives 120 Management and Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ30) Work Personality Inventory: Leadership Report 16PF Questionnaire: Management Potential Report them to lead. The Management and Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ30) provides critical information about an individuals management and leadership competencies and skills. Based upon the MLQ30 Competency Model, candidates rate their current performance on 5-point Likert scales. Comprised of 192 statements, the MLQ30 can be completed in less than 30 minutes. It is effective in identifying an individual s strengths and developmental needs and can be used for selection as well as development. The Work Personality Index (WPI) is a work-oriented personality inventory that assesses the personal characteristics and tendencies that influence an individual's job performance (more information reported above). The Leadership Report describes key features of an individual s personal style that influence their approach to tasks, ways of interacting with people, and performance at work. This is supplemented with developmental feedback. The 16PF Questionnaire is a comprehensive measure of normal adult personality that assesses 16 personality dimensions and is based on more than 60 years of research. The Management Potential Report assesses leadership and management potential associated with success in a broad range of managerial settings. This report contains a combined profile chart and narrative report that provides an overview of the individual's personal strengths and areas for potential growth and development

7 Cognitive Ability Tests Test Name Industry (if applicable) Descriptions # of Items Hogan Business Reasoning Inventory Managers; Professionals; Executives The Hogan Business Reasoning Inventory (HBRI) evaluates an individual s ability to solve problems and make business-related decisions. With norms based upon managerial samples, it is designed to predict occupational success and distinguishes between tactical and strategic reasoning abilities. The HBRI is designed to measure verbal and non-verbal reasoning skills. 24 Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal - Short Form Core Abilities Assessment Professionals; Leaders; Executives Entry- to mid-level positions as production/manufacturing employees, maintenance employees, administrative positions, front-line supervisors, call center/telemarketing employees, etc. The Watson Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal (WGCTA) is an assessment designed to measure an individual s ability to think critically. It is comprised of 40 multiple choice items in which the candidate is asked to answer questions based upon a provided text passage. The WGCTA is useful for assessing an individual s ability to reason, think analytically, and draw inferences. The WGCTA measures: Inference, Recognition of Assumptions, Deduction, Interpretation, Evaluation of Arguments, & Overall Critical Thinking. Core Abilities Assessment is a brief measure of cognitive and reasoning abilities. It is comprised of 20 multiple choice items, all of which are written at or below the 6th grade reading level, and has a 15 minute time limit. Based upon a combination of items that tap verbal, numerical, and abstract reasoning skills, this assessment provides significant information about a candidate's ability to learn and perform on the job and is useful for both screening and clarifying an individual's ability to learn and become a successful employee

8 Emotional Intelligence Tests Test Name Industry (if applicable) Descriptions # of Items Hogan EQ Report All - no position specific information reported The Hogan EQ report provides an assessment of an individual s emotional intelligence. It is designed to identify a person s ability to manage their own and others emotions by measuring several critical components of emotional intelligence. Useful for both selection and development, it is comprised of 172 true-false items and can be completed in 20 minutes. The Hogan EQ assesses: Awareness, Detection, Regulation, Influence, Expression, 172 Emotional Judgement Inventory (EJI) All - no position specific information reported & Empathy. The Emotional Judgment Inventory is a brief measure of emotional intelligence that provides insight into an individual s ability to recognize and effectively use emotional information. It is comprised of 80 rating scale items and can be completed in less than 15 minutes. The Emotional Judgment Inventory can be used for both selection as well as development. Seven dimensions of emotional intelligence are assessed: Being Aware of Emotions, Identifying Own Emotions, Identifying Others' Emotions, Managing Own Emotions, Managing Others' Emotions, Using Emotions in Problem Solving, & Expressing Emotions Adaptively. 80 8

It is comprised of a combination of 62 true-false and multiple choice questions and takes most people about 10 minutes to complete. QWIK-RELY focuses upon an applicant s attitudes about coming to work on time, coming to work every day as scheduled, showing initiative, and working the whole time while on the job. QWIK-RELY also has a series of "admissions questions" which ask applicants about their past work behavior. 62 Organizational Culture/Values Tests Test Name Industry (if applicable) Descriptions # of Items DeGarmo's Matched Values Profile (MVP) All - customization included with applicant testing fees The MVP is a 55-item survey of work values that requires -30 minutes for completion. The test works by comparing ratings of importance for eleven core work value alignments such as Achievement, Orderliness, and Power to those of the organization. The goal is to hire applicants who align well with the organization s work values to improve job fit and performance long-term. We work with executive leadership in each client organization to determine their custom MVP profile. This process is very efficient and produces a diagnostic report of core work values that informs the employee selection process as well as other important organizational 55 Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) All development efforts. Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) is an assessment of an individual s values and motives. It is comprised of 200 items and takes less than 20 minutes to complete. The MVPI assesses a person's core values and identifies what a person wants to do rather than what a person may do in certain situations. The MPVI is based upon a comprehensive, business-based taxonomy of values and is useful for evaluating the fit between a person's values and an organization's culture. It is also designed to predict occupational success and job satisfaction

The questions pertain to the most commonly used Microsoft Excel 2010 features such as file management, editing, formatting, analysis, customizing Excel, and Excel and the Internet. The Standard report indicates the candidate s performance on each item and also whether that skill is considered to be at the Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced level. It is an adaptive test which adjusts item difficulty based upon candidate performance.
