1 GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY Student Technology Fee FY 2015 In constructing Tech Fee Funding Proposal Cost Sheet, use the following costs for computer workstations. Standard Desktop & Laptop Configurations: The following desktop systems are standard technology for Student Technology Fee purposes. Desktop systems exceeding this capability and price should be specifically justified. a) Windows/Intel processors workstation, including monitor: $895 b) Windows/Intel processors laptop: $1095 c) Apple Macintosh desktop, including monitor: $1,368 d) Apple Macintosh laptop: $1,182 Robust Desktop & Laptop Configurations: The following prices and configurations are the standard for robust systems. Any deviation from these robust standards should be further justified. a) Windows/Intel processors workstation, including monitor : $1495 b) Windows/Intel processors laptop: $1365 c) Apple Macintosh desktop, including monitor: $2,841 d) Apple Macintosh laptop: $2,577 Standard Replacement Thresholds: All old equipment, being replaced by new equipment, must meet one of the following criteria. a) If the equipment to be replaced is older than 4 years at the time the stage 2 proposal is submitted, it is considered to be obsolete due to University-wide standard. This standard is based upon a minimum acceptable performance level needed to operate current operating systems, and office suites. The proposal submitter must state that the university minimum performance criteria are being used. b) If the equipment to be replaced is newer than four years old at the time the stage 2 proposal is submitted, the submitter is required to document specific quantitative performance requirements that warrant the replacement of such equipment. The equipment s inability to perform specific functions must be identified. Also, a statement is required explaining why the performance of such functions is critical to the continued functioning of the facility in which the equipment will be located. See Attachment 4: Equipment Exception Replacement Form, which must be completed for all replacement equipment that is newer than four years old at the time of the stage 2 submittal.
