2 Stacey M. Anderson Town Council Davidson Website: electstaceyanderson.com Stacey Anderson for Davidson Town Commissioner Education/Occupation B.S. Accountancy University of Illinois; MBA University of Houston; Strategic Planning Manager Wells Fargo Community involvement and leadership experiences Where I grew up and when I came to Mecklenburg Co. As a student, I was interested in government, leadership, and civic issues because... Favorite news source Hough High School - PTSA Scholarship; Chair United Way of Central Carolinas, Mooresville-Lake Norman - Board Chair and Citizens Review Process; Davidson Comprehensive Plan - Sense of Place/Housing-Community Development Study Group Participant; Davidson Elementary School - School Leadership Team; Lake Norman Leadership; Mental Health Association of Central Carolinas - Board Chair I was born in Seattle, Washington; grew up in Moline, Illinois; lived in both Houston & Dallas, Texas before moving to Davidson 20 years ago to work for First Union. I wanted to be the first female president of the United States. NBC News, Wall Street Journal and Charlotte Observer Political viewpoint Fiscally conservative and socially moderate. First issue I will tackle Reevaluating the targeted growth plan in the 2010 Comprehensive Plan, looking closely at the proposed locations & densities for growth. In 2010, the Red Line appeared to be imminent & would change the transportation picture in Davidson dramatically. Currently, the Red Line is not a viable option, & we are already experiencing traffic issues. Imminent needs to be updated.economic development:: build new infrastructure to provide jobs, build new public/private schools, repair roads,bridges...set up industrail parks to produce high tech products.

3 I think the most important role of town government is What does our town do well? What can we do better? A town issue that does not get enough attention and how I will solve it My impact on the town s progress and growth Do all kids in our town have equal opportunities for success? How I will help Why students should get involved in GenerationNation and CLT-Meck Youth Council One more thing I want people to know about me The most important role of town government is to provide a safe & healthy place for its citizens to live, work & raise their families. Healthy communities attract people & businesses wanting to relocate. A healthy community has clean air & water, a safe environment for its citizens & a variety of transportation methods & housing options. We do a great job attracting new residents; we don t necessarily integrate new perspectives into the town s future direction. All public input sessions are held at town hall immediately after work. A lot of the newer residents live on the other side of town or have jobs outside of Davidson, which makes it difficult for them to attend these sessions We have pockets of Davidson with higher crime rates. We need to make sure all of the citizens of Davidson feel safe in their own homes. I will do my best to make sure that the Davidson Police force is adequately staffed and has the equipment needed to protect our citizens including body cameras and other cameras placed at key points across town. We recently completed a fiscal impact analysis and we need to use the results of that analysis to make sure we have the required infrastructure to support each new development that is approved for Davidson. This includes adequate police and fire protection, money for sidewalks and greenway maintenance. Yes, I think that all kids in Davidson have an equal opportunity for success. We have a wide variety of school choices from public to private to charter schools. We also support our under privileged students through Ada Jenkins and the Cornelius-Davidson Day Care Center. I would continue to provide funding to both of these non-profits. This is a critical junction in the history of our nation; 2 political parties at very different ends of the spectrum, not wanting to collaborate & make decisions that are best for our nation. We need the youth to get involved, to vote & become active in politics. It is a shame that less than 10% of registered voters vote on a regular basis. I have learned a lot during my first term as a Davidson commissioner. We have accomplished a great deal & Davidson is on a great trajectory. The challenge will be keeping it that way. I will continue to be an advocate for all the people of Davidson; listening to the community before making decisions that impact our future. Listen, learn, lead.

4 Jim Fuller Town Council Davidson Website: on Education/Occupation Davidson College, UNC Law School, Lawyer, Adjunct Professor at Davidson, UNC, and Duke Community involvement and leadership experiences Where I grew up and when I came to Mecklenburg Co. Town Board incumbent, local committees, planning board, Ada Jenkins Center, Community Players, Lifeline, Police Family Benefits Fund, Davidson College Mentor High Point, NC As a student, I was interested in government, leadership, and civic issues because... Favorite news source The opportunity to provide service and leadership to achieve the common goals of the people. Charlotte Observer Political viewpoint Non-Partisan Race First issue I will tackle I think the most important role of town government is Balancing preservation of small town values with need for economic development.economic development:: build new infrastructure to provide jobs, build new public/private schools, repair roads,bridges...set up industrail parks to produce high tech products. To listen carefully to the people and try to do what is best for all citizens.

5 What does our town do well? What can we do better? A town issue that does not get enough attention and how I will solve it My impact on the town s progress and growth We are excellent at service, caring for each other, and growing slowly with focus on the best planning procedures. We can work harder to make sure every single citizen is a vital part of our effort-and that he or she feels appreciated. Citizen involvement can be enhanced by "taking board meetings to the people" throughout our community, and not having everything be at Town Hall. By applying hard work, experience, and dedication. Do all kids in our town have equal opportunities for success? How I will help Why students should get involved in GenerationNation and CLT-Meck Youth Council One more thing I want people to know about me No, but we are affirmatively working toward that end with our programs that provide computers, provide assistance at times of stress, and bring in small businesses to provide job experience. We can and must do better. Because we are a democracy there is no "government." We are the government, and all responsibility and opportunity belongs to us as citizens. I attended Davidson College on a football scholarship which gave me the opportunity for a wonderful education. Throughout my professional life I have tried to give back by teaching students at law schools (UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, NCCU, and Charlotte) as well as at Davidson College. Governor Hunt appointed me as a judge on the Court of Appeals.
