Fields with the "Contact" information will be merged with recipient information. +++ Tax Postponed Series # 1 Day 0 Subject: How would you like to postpone paying taxes forever? ~Contact.FirstName~, Many of our clients and friends are investing in IRA's and 401(k)'s for their retirement. I love seeing their wisdom in putting aside funds for now, for future use. That is very good. The problem is, that (in the course of my tax work) not only have I seen that many of these accounts are NOT performing as they could and should be but many of the tax "advantages" of these account entities are almost completely eliminated when the time comes to actually USE the funds from these accounts. Kind of scary, when you think about it, actually. *** [If you already want more information, call our offices ASAP and ask for one of our limited "Tax Postponed" appointment slots for the month: ~Profile.Salesphone~ ] *** Look, as a tax professional, I make it my business to keep the IRS off the back of my clients and future clients. But the sad reality is that the IRS has somehow convinced millions of taxpayers (and I do mean tax PAYERS, as you will soon see) to accept a trade whereby they don't have to pay a small amount income tax now on certain savings plans, but will instead pay many MORE taxes later. That's like telling a robber: "Hey, as long as you don't rob me of my watch right now, next month I'll give you my Mercedes in the garage at home. Deal?" That's called a 401 K. Or, they will pay the normal rate of income taxes now, but choose to pay no income taxes upon retirement (or so they think) the IRA model.

What if, instead, you could put funds aside without paying income tax now AND without having to do so during the withdrawal phase? If that sounds like something you'd be interested in discussing, we have set aside a limited number (10) "Tax Postponed" appointment slots per month. Call ~Profile.Salesphone~ now to schedule yours. If the slots for this month are completely full, we'll simply find a time that works next month. But do NOT allow yourself to willingly be taxed more than is necessary. All it takes is a phone call. Warmly, ~Profile.Displayname~ ~Profile.Lastname~ ~Profile.Salesphone~ ~Profile.Signature~ ~Profile.TwitterURL~ ~Profile.FacebookURL~ ~Profile.LinkedInURL~ You are receiving this note because you are a client or friend of ~Profile.Displayname~ ~Profile.Lastname~. ~Profile.Disclaimer~ ~OptOut_5~

#2 5 days later Subject: You and your neighbor down the street ~Contact.FirstName~, The other day, I sent you an about "deferring your taxes" forever. I received some interesting questions and responses about it (as well as a bunch of phone calls requesting appointment slots!). So, to address some of these questions, I thought I would play out a scenario for you let's say it's you... and your neighbor, Jim, down the street. *** [Just in case you simply forgot to give us a call, but were already interested in hearing more, consider this your "bump" and call us ASAP at ~Profile.Salesphone~ ] Let's say you both set aside $250 per month for retirement. That's good. But you do it in your 401(k), while Jim came to us and we helped him into a "Tax Postponed" account. You: The government kindly incentivizes you to make these savings, so that you are NOT taxed on income which goes there! Again, that's good. So, assuming a 30% tax rate (for the sake of the illustration), you save $900 PER year in income taxes, and $27K cumulatively after 30 years. That's pretty great! (This is so why many people have 401(k)'s). After 30 years, assuming a basic rate of return, after 30 years you're sitting with almost $900,000 which you accumulated TAX FREE. This is good.) But wait for the kicker: When you *withdraw* these funds... you will pay income tax. And, again, assuming tax rates stay the same (perhaps not a safe assumption!), you will pay a 30% interest rate (our illustrative rate) against your withdrawals. Say you withdraw 10% that's $90K of "ordinary" income... with $27K of income taxes. Which means: in the first year, you are kindly paying Uncle Sam back for ALL of the tax savings you were "given" during your savings years. And every year afterwards, you will continue to pay "ordinary" income taxes on your withdrawals, and the math gets pretty ugly, pretty fast. Jim down the street: Jim, on the other hand, used a "Tax Postponed" vehicle for his savings.

He did NOT pay income taxes on the monies set aside, NOR was he required to pay "ordinary" income taxes on the money used in retirement (because retirement age limitations are still in place for this savings vehicle). The money is conservatively invested in stocks, bonds and mutual funds... and BAM: Your neighbor Jim has about 50% more resources than you do in retirement. (NOT because of the investment decisions those were the same. Because of the TAXES.) All from one simple decision. If that doesn't motivate you, I'm not sure what will. So if this sounds like something you'd be interested in discussing, we have set aside a limited number (10) "Tax Postponed" appointment slots per month. Call ~Profile.Salesphone~ now to schedule yours. If the slots for this month are completely full, we'll simply find a time that works next month. Don't dally. Warmly, ~Profile.Displayname~ ~Profile.Lastname~ ~Profile.Salesphone~ PS Do feel free to send questions, but my suggestion is to simply set up an in person or phone meeting where I, or one of my team members, can go over the particulars of your situation with you and identify the best plan of attack. Take one of these slots! ~Profile.Signature~ ~Profile.TwitterURL~ ~Profile.FacebookURL~ ~Profile.LinkedInURL~ You are receiving this note because you are a client or friend of ~Profile.Displayname~ ~Profile.Lastname~. ~Profile.Disclaimer~ ~OptOut_5~

#3 8 days later Subject: I'd like to get your feedback, ~Contact.FirstName~ ~Contact.FirstName~, I've sent you two s so far, and I'd like to get your response to this "Tax Postponed" business, I've been writing about. Unfortunately, we've been so busy, that I haven't been able to "tag" in my system if you've already called my staff and secured an appointment. If you have great, we'll talk then. If you haven't would you send me a brief as to why? Or, perhaps my s simply got lost in the spam/business rabbithole. In that case, I'll re post my previous below... it's about you and your neighbor down the street Let's say you both set aside $250 per month for retirement. You do it in your 401(k), while Jim came to us and we helped him into a "Tax Postponed" account.
