2 Project Background WBCSD s vision for the economy is that by 2050 a business should be measured by its True Value and should use True Costs and True Profits in its internal and external reporting. This involves a redefinition of profit and loss, performance and value creation to integrate longer-term environmental and social impacts. The development of standardized frameworks for business to integrate social and natural capital into decision-making are essential to achieving this aim. WBCSD believes that corporate reporting must adapt to reflect integrated management and facilitate informed and sustainable decision making. However, the information that businesses are required to disclose in their annual, sustainability or integrated reports varies significantly and the landscape of reporting frameworks, regulation, policies, standards and guidance becomes more diverse and complex as voluntary and mandatory reporting initiatives emerge. Project Aim and Objectives In response to this issue and a call from its membership, the WBCSD has partnered with the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) to launch a three year Reporting Landscape mapping project with the overall aim to enhance and consolidate business understanding and implementation of sustainability, integrated, mainstream and legally required corporate reporting. This project is funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. To achieve this overall aim, WBCSD s objectives are: 1) To develop a freely available web based application and database (the Reporting Provisions Database (RPD)) which enables stakeholders to navigate and understand the reporting landscape at national, regional and international level by autumn 2017; 2) To engage with key stakeholders to understand user requirements and how the RPD can best support reporting processes through two pilot programs, one in Q with sample reporting provisions from 5 countries and one in 2016 with reporting provisions from 67 WBCSD member countries; and 3) To create a community of moderators operating autonomously, contributing to and validating the reporting data held in the RPD to ensure accuracy, standardisation, provenance and credibility by spring Scope and Deliverables WBCSD is seeking a development and design agency to partner on the delivery of objective 1 and 2. The following deliverables are expected: 1) Development of a web application and database (See Appendix B System and User Requirements Document); 2) Develop an identity and brand for the web tool and database including: a) a strong, engaging and unique name for the web tool and database that can be used in all publications and promotional material; b) supporting logos, fonts and designs for the web tool and database which complement the WBCSD and Redefining Value brands c) brand guidelines 3) Facilitate user requirements gathering workshop(s) with WBCSD members and industry experts;

3 4) Provide technical support and a bug / issue reporting platform during 2 x pilot programs and throughout the project lifecycle; 5) Develop supporting promotional materials and provide copywriting support for: a) 2 page summary document b) infographics c) power point slide template d) information packs e) non-database driven web pages f) other related media 6) Develop a user introductory / instructional video or animation; and 7) Create an online user manual. This brief was prepared following an initial requirements gathering exercise by WBCSD and CDSB, and is designed as a guide to potential functionality of the RPD only. The WBCSD would like our potential partners to facilitate a requirements gathering workshop with the potential end users of the RPD. WBCSD will help with the delivery of this workshop. Resources to be provided by WBCSD All the data for the RPD in a format to be agreed by the developer; and All the copy for supporting materials in a format to be agreed by the developer. Guidelines for Proposal Submission Please provide the following information in your response to this request: 1. Background information a. A brief overview of your company; and b. Qualification / skills / competencies or qualities relevant to this project. 2. Previous work

4 a. A brief description of similar projects including scope, staffing, duration, and key deliverables plus samples of the work (can be an appendix). 3. Project Approach a. Describe your project approach based on the deliverables and draft system and user requirements document attached; and b. Describe your approach to software development, including details of project management and software development methodologies. 4. Provide initial design concepts / ideas 5. Project Timing and Costs a. A project timeline; b. The total cost, including a breakdown of costs by deliverable. Please itemise any costs not associated with the individual deliverables; and c. Any on-going costs beyond the three year project timescale e.g. hosting costs. 6. Project Assumptions and Risks a. List any assumptions you have made in producing this proposal; and b. Please list any risks that you have identified, if any. Please rate them (high / medium / low) and suggest how you or WBCSD may mitigate them. 7. Appendices References and samples of previous work. Submissions should be limited to 6 pages, A4 (excluding cover pages) plus appendices. The following elements will be the primary considerations in evaluating all submitted proposals and in the selection of a developer.
