Long term customer relationship 2 Warranty Concept The manufacturer s warranty for solar panels and inverters can be extended for up to 20 years. Contents The extended product warranty covers the following items: - Solar panels following on from the manufacturer s warranty; - Inverters following on from the manufacturer s warranty; - Call-out charges from the date of installation; - Labour costs (for repair) from the date of installation; - If the manufacturer of the solar panels or inverters goes bankrupt during the manufacturer s warranty period, the insurer will take over the product warranty. Important to know - If a solar panel or an inverter develops a technical defect during the product warranty period, you should claim against the manufacturer's product warranty itself. Repair costs (call-out and labour charges) will, however, be reimbursed under this policy. - Once the product warranty period for the solar panel or inverter has expired, the warranty will continue to be provided under this policy. - Labour costs shall be limited to per hour and call-out charges to 0,6 per km with a maximum of Call-out charges does not include travel costs for the sending / transporting of parts. Solar panels shall be deemed to be damaged: - if the installation generates less than 90% of the minimum power output specified by the manufacturer during the first 10 years after installation; - if the installation generates less than 80% of the minimum power output specified by the manufacturer from the 11 th to the 20 th year after installation. 4 Inverters shall be deemed to be damaged: - if the inverter fails entirely, or fails to convert sufficient direct current (DC) into 230V alternating current (AC). Insurance term The contract shall be for an initial period of one year, being renewed automatically thereafter for a subsequent period of 12 months, unless either party gives written notice of cancellation at least 3 months before the contract expiry date. Insured installations can be covered by this policy for up to 20 years By paying a single premium you can extend the product guarantee of your panels and inverters for up to 10 years. Available only for installations up to 12 kwp. 3 USPs 1. In case of a warranty claim, the continuity of your company will not be in danger if the manufacturer does not exist anymore. 2. Certainty by funding request; it is easier to finance PV-installations when warranty obligations are insured. 3. Certainty; with the warranty you can guarantee the promised yield for 20 years. 4. Long term relation with your customer. 4 Claim Settlement Intervention in case of damage The costs of repair will be reimbursed by the insurer in full, and with no deductible. PARTS + LABOUR COSTS + CALL-OUT CHARGES Important Depreciation at the rate of 3% a year shall be applied from the sixth year after the delivery date. 5 5 Premium On request a premium quotation can be provided. A guideline price of ± 15, per MW (exclusive insurance tax) can be used. The premium will be based on the size of the project, and the make and type of panels and inverters used. Important Payment of a one-off premium for a term of 10 years is only possible for installations up to 12 kwp. 6 Requirements Solar panels/inverters All makes and types of solar panels and inverters that you identify for this warranty will be covered upon approval by the insurer. Approval will depend in part on the type of product certification gained (Tüv, G, ISO etc.). Where the makes you use are not accepted by the insurer, for instance because the make is unknown, Solarif can enquire on a technical level at the manufacturer to see if the make or type can still be included under the policy. If you start using other makes, these must undergo approval testing before they can be covered by the warranty. Only approved and notified makes shall be covered. Repairs Only you, as installer, can carry out repairs and replacement after agreement. Maintenance terms and conditions The installer undertakes to maintain the insured PV installations in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines. The following obligations also apply: 1. Functional check: every year the installation should be checked for satisfactory operation; this should be done for the first time 12 months after installation; the results should be documented. 2. Maintenance & cleaning: every 4 years the solar panels should be cleaned; inverters should be de-dusted at least every 4 years; the results should be documented. the results should be documented. Important: The abovementioned reports must be submitted in the event of a claim. Failure to submit reports may result in limited or no entitlement to payment of damages. Page 5 of 7

6 7 Registration The insurance contract is set up as a framework agreement between you, the installer, and the insurer. Within the framework agreement the individual projects of your customers are registered. Working with a framework agreement avoids that every time another individual contract must be made up and signed by all parties. In order to register the installations you must provide Solar Insurance & Finance monthly with the following data of each installation: Name and address of your customer; Solar panels: make, type, number of panels, serial number of each solar panel; Inverters: make, type, number of inverters, serial number of each inverter; Copy of the sales invoice to the customer of the PV-system; Installed capacity (kwp) of the installation; Installation date. Again we remind you that only solar panels and inverters are covered by the insurance when these materials are previously approved by the insurer. 8 Invoicing You will receive a monthly invoice based on actual turnover. Currency The policy is issued in The Netherlands. All premiums and honoured claims under this insurance will be indebted en paid in Euro s. The involved insurers will never be obliged to compensate differences in currency as a result of conversion. 9 Insurer Up front it is not possible to mention the insurer taking on the insurance.
