2 ABET Definitions
3 General Criteria for B.S. Level Programs Criterion 1 Students Performance must be evaluated. Policies for awarding academic credit, enforcement of graduation requirements. Criterion 2 Program Educational Objectives Must have published program educational objectives that have input from key constituents and reviewed and revised on a periodic basis. Criterion 3 Student Outcomes Program must document student outcomes the prepare graduates to obtain program educational objectives. Student outcomes are label as outcomes a k, plus any additional outcomes adopted by the program. Criterion 4 ContinuousImprovement Program mustregularly document process of assessing and evaluating the extent to which the program educational objectives and student outcomes are obtained. The evaluation results must be used as inputfor continuous improvement

Criterion 5 Curriculum 1 yr of college level mathematics and basic science 1.5 yrs of engineering topics general education component major design experience Criterion 6 Faculty Sufficient size and competency to cover all curriculum areas. Criterion 7 Facilities Adequate facilities Criterion 8 InstitutionalSupport Leadership financial support staff Criterion 8 Institutional Support Leadership, financial support, staff support, etc.
5 CVEEN Program Educational Objectives Approved Undergraduate Program Educational Objectives (Approved effective October 26,2012 Faculty Meeting) The educational objectives of the program are that t during the first few years after graduation: The graduate will be employed and effective as a civil engineer, or will perceive himself/herself to be employable as an effective civil engineer, or will perceive that the Civil Engineering Program effectively prepared her/him for graduate training in engineering or another professional discipline. If employed as an engineer, the graduate will be or will be aspiring to become a licensed engineer. Additionally, the graduate will be active in ASCE and/or other professional organizations that work to improve the engineering profession and will be involved in continuing education. The graduate will affirm that the Civil Engineering Program was effective in preparing her/him for a leadership role in society and to be an advocate of Civil Engineering to the broader community.
