6 Student Comments = Positive = Negative = Advice Computer Science - Male It s a community college, what else do you expect from it? I think as a junior college, VCC does everything it could in its limited budget to prepare students for later years in state universities. Try to get into the Honors Program, you will have access to a very good education and excellent environment. If there was one thing I could change about VCC, that would be tuition and scholarships for international students. It s so unfair while we, international students, have to pay 4 times higher than in state students and get no money back regardless of our academic record. For this one reason, I would recommend bright international students to look at private schools instead. Other than that, VCC is an all right CC. Mechanical Engineering - Male Valencia is a very good start up school. The professors are very nice. Some are idiots, but the much larger majority of them are very nice. There is a lack of school spirit, but they make for that with academics. Psychology - Female VCC is a great school to attend and can help you cut down on college costs, but just make sure you set goals early and know where you want to go after VCC ASAP (before or during your freshman year is best) in order to take the required courses to get into the next University of your choice (so you will not be wasting your time and money on classes that will not transfer). VCC is one of the highest rated community colleges in the nation and it shows; the majority of the teachers I have had were awesome and made my semesters fun, interesting and informative. My top advice is to hold off on getting your actual AA degree until you know for sure that you have all of the courses you need to transfer to your next college; it will save you a lot of hassle... especially if you want to go to a college like UF that has mandatory classes for specific majors for transfer students. Also, utilize the rate my professor site... it can help you pick out some of the best teachers whom love to help you make the most of your education. Undecided - Male Valencia is definitely a better place to start indeed The Honors Program is an awesome way to prepare yourself for any university whether in state or one of the top schools. I strongly believe that more high school seniors should strongly consider starting off in a community college first to better explore many many career options before heading out to a big university. You cannot get this unique freshman experience anywhere else And you get to be around real people a strong diverse community a family. Art & Design Department - Male People are generally negative and stuck up for a low standard college. Most courses will transfer over to UCF but not UF or FSU keep that in mind and they lack many sophmore/junior courses. It is just flakey highschool people but now students have jobs in the great profession of waiterperson. Classes are easy and a joke and i have had 2 4 good teachers and 12 terrible ones. I can t wait to go to University... Valencia Sucks 5

7 How to Get In Computer Science Quite Bright - Male It s too easy to get into a CC, so there s no advice needed about this, I think. However, you should try to get a decent SAT/ACT and/or highschool GPA to be admitted to the Honors Program, which can give u money, good education, and fun Spring Break trip abroad. Good luck 6
