10 Certificates and courses GREEN BELT PROGRAM SCM510 Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management This introductory course begins your SCM Certificate journey, starting with a systems thinking view of a supply chain, the challenges of managing supply chains, the role of supply chain management in quality, and trends in supply chain management. Supply Chain components, flows, and interconnections are discussed. You will learn how to map and analyze supply chains, use process frameworks, and understand the elements of the core supply chain and supporting processes for Plan, Source, Produce, Deliver, and Return process types. The concept of supply chain maturity will help you visualize the potential for supply chain excellence and what it takes to get there. SCM520 Supply Chain Planning, Operations, and Logistics This course covers supply chain planning; sourcing/procurement, production operations (with particular focus on demand management/forecasting, sales and operations planning (S&OP) and MRP/MPS); inventory planning and optimization; warehousing; and transportation. Other topics include the Theory of Constraints, financial implications of supply chain decisions, and global logistics considerations. You will learn how to select the right key performance indicators for supply chain processes and the supply chain as a whole. In addition, you will have the opportunity to use a proven assessment tool to evaluate the supply chain maturity of your enterprise. During this course, you will apply Lean Six Sigma concepts to supply chain management. You will identify common wastes within supply chains and learn about the use of common Lean tools, such as 6S, VSM, visual job aids, Kanban, JIT, quick changeover, TPM, and more. Key to successful lean initiatives will be discussed. This course provides you the additional knowledge and skills to develop and complete your Capstone Project which must generate real results in one or more supply chain metrics. In order to be awarded a Supply Chain Black Belt Certificate, candidates must also pass the SCM Black Belt Exam. BLACK BELT PROGRAM SCM530 Supply Chain Strategy, Design & Management Building on the learning from the Green Belt course, SCM530 marks the beginning of the Black Belt program. This course focuses on broader, strategic supply chain issues such as: supply chain networks, building and maintaining relationships with customers (CRM) and suppliers (SRM), supply chain integration, strategic sourcing, spend analysis and cost management, the role of technology, new product development, and project management. You will identify a supply chain related improvement project in a real working environment to serve as your Capstone Project; this project will be completed in the next course in this program and will utilize systems thinking and a proven methodology such as Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, or PDCA. SCM540 The 21st Century Supply Chain: Lean Six-Sigma and More During this course, you will apply Lean Six Sigma concepts to supply chain management. MASTER BLACK BELT PROGRAM SCM550 Benchmarking and Best Practices in Supply Chain Management For those who desire deeper understanding and application of supply chain management strategies, this course provides ample opportunity to identify leading and best practices. SCM550 marks the beginning of the Master Black Belt Certificate, a key component of which is an inter-departmental or inter-enterprise improvement project that must be completed by the end of the follow-on course, SCM560. A key discussion area in this course is the application of technology in global supply chain management. Benchmarking techniques will be reviewed and, through case study analysis and a review of current literature on supply chain management, you will gain a wealth of practices to assess for possible application to your work environment. SCM 560 Leadership, Risk Management, and Sustainability Effective supply chains are driven by excellence in leadership. This course covers elements of leadership, change management, and organizational alignment. In addition, participants will learn about current initiatives in SCM and review topics such as current trends, risk identification and mitigation, legal aspects of SCM, the greening of the supply chain, and sustainability. The Master Black Belt Capstone Project will be completed by the end of this course. This project must generate real results in one or more supply chain metrics. Passing an exam completes your achievement of a Master Black Belt.
