12 HEALTH & SAFETY ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS Staying in close proximity to devices which emit electro-magnetic fields (e.g. neon lights, televisions, computer monitors, portable televisions and microwave ovens) can lead to buzzing, crackling or hissing noises in your hearing instrument(s) remedy: Turn your hearing instrument(s) off for a moment, if you cannot leave the area of interference.

Not only are you likely to violate any applicable warranties or insurance, you could easily cause further damage. Should your hearing system fail or perform poorly, check the troubleshooting guide for a possible solution. If problems continue, contact your hearing care professional for assistance.
14 HEALTH & SAFETY INSTRUMENTS Protect your hearing instrument(s) and turn off before - washing your hair - showering or having a bath - using perfume or hair spray, as these can make important parts of your instrument sticky. - visiting a sauna - using a hairdryer. High temperatures can damage the instruments electronics. - Receiving high frequency warming therapy, radiation therapy or therapy with other devices. Deposit your hearing instrument(s) in another room before therapy. - working in areas where there is a risk of explosion.
