The candidate is originally from Europe. 2. The candidate has a strong academic record within a European academic institution. 3. The candidate must have completed their first degree, preferably a master s degree as well. 4. The candidate shows evidence that they will use their improved language skills to further their academic career. 5. The candidate has demonstrated that they aim to further the field of Jewish studies within their country, or within Europe as a whole. 6. The referee is supportive of the applicant and highlights the contribution that the language course will make to his/her career. These grants are intended to fund only tuition and student housing costs. Note that candidates who are awarded a Rothschild Grant will receive notification and the funds will be transferred directly to the Hebrew University.
