1 Performance and Testing Much is expected of safety spectaces in the 21st century. Not ony do we expect impact resistance, great optics, ightweight and futuristic stying, but we aso expect to pay ony a few doars for the atest and trendiest pair of safety gasses. Compying with the performance requirements of existing standards is just the beginning. Today's safety gasses are about 10 to 20 times stronger than the safety gasses that were an industry standard just over a decade ago. Lens Technoogy Poycarbonate enses provide some inherent features, and other features can be added to the Poycarbonate through the moding process or coated onto the Poycarbonate after the part is finished. Impact resistance: a Evex safety gasses meet the high veocity impact requirements of ANSI Z UV-protection (99.9%) between 180 and 380nm is provided by our Poycarbonate (Lexan) enses. High UV and Bue Light protective characteristics come from specia absorbers added during the ens moding process. Evex NCB gray enses (Natura Coor Baance) are made with specia absorbers added during the moding process. NCB enses provide UV, Bue Light and Infrared protection (see chart above). Shade 2 to 5 ANSI weding enses have absorbers for the undesirabe waveengths and intensity of UV, Visibe and IR ight, experienced when gas weding. A scratch resistant hard coating is added to a Evex safety gasses except mode SG-10. Evex SuperCoat treatment provides a ens that is anti-fog, anti-scratch, anti-static as we as UV-protective. The Indoor/Outdoor ens has additiona UV absorbers and a ight god mirror coating, in order to reduce gare and Visibe Light Transmission. This ens is a compromise for individuas moving from bright to dark environments. A enses and coatings are not avaiabe in a frame styes.
