1 The Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) was set up as a statutory body on 11 June 2001 by the Minister for Education and Science. Under the Qualifications (Education & Training) Act, 1999, FETAC now has responsibility for making awards previously made by NCVA. Module Descriptor Printed Circuit Board Design & Fabrication Level N
2 1 Module Title Printed Circuit Board Design And Fabrication 2 Module Code N Level 4 Credit Value 1 credit Purpose This module is a statement of the standards to be achieved to gain an FETAC credit in Printed Circuit Board Design and Fabrication at level. The module is designed to give the learner an understanding of the processes involved in P.C.B. design and production. The module is best delivered with analogue and digital electronics level. 6 Preferred Entry Level Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences. 7 Special Requirements None. 8 General Aims Learners who successfully complete this module will: 8.1 be familiar with the computer-aided draughting design software package 8.2 be confident users of this computer design technology 8.3 be capable of using the software to produce a schematic and layout diagram from a given circuit diagram 8.4 be familiar with of the relevant industrial processes to transfer the design to a copper clad board and produce a bare printed circuit board 2
