3 The decision making process The Imperial Foundry exists primarily to facilitate a more productive and entertaining EVE online experience for its members and leadership alike. With this in mind the Imperial Foundry was created as a benevolent Dictatorship. By basing a corporation upon the absolute power of a competent and quick acting Chief Executive Officer, the unproductive, unentertaining and lengthy process of achieving consensus based on votes and elected "councils" need not occur. Instead critical decisions can be made rapidly in the often changing and complex universe of EVE. That is not to say however that the membership have no say or are ignored by the leadership, on the contrary the majority of decisions will be made only after the CEO has taken into consideration the thoughts and ideas of the membership and the directorate. The Four Corporation divisions The membership of TIF is categorized into four divisions: Executive, Fabrication, Destruction and Extraction. Each of these divisions represents a major play style of the foundries membership. Below is a simple summery of the role and focus of each division. Fabrication: The members of the fabrication division are primarily focused on the construction of the Ships, Modules, Stations, Ammunition and other goods that TIF requires to function as a corporation. In order to achieve this members of the fabrication division are also responsible for the research, copying and organization of the blueprints required to construct the above mentioned goods. The fabrication division also transports and sells the goods they create. Destruction: The appropriately named Destruction division is made of those members focused on the business of attacking the enemies of the foundry and in turn defending the assets and membership of the corporation from offensive actions. As the largest division within the foundry the members of TIFs combat wing are often at the forefront of corporation activities and operations. Extraction: It is the members of the extraction division who harvest and provide the critical raw materials needed by the fabrication division to construct the ships and goods used by TIFs combatants. In order to procure these materials the Extraction division organizes mining operations in both high security and dangerous space. However the members of the extraction division are by no means simple miners, in fact the extraction division is responsible for organizing, scouting and pulling of the dangerous expeditions into the incredibly profitable wormhole space. Executive: The executive division is made up of those members whose primary role within TIF is organizational in nature. By far the smallest of the four division the executive division is made up of the Chief Executive Officer and there assistants. 3

4 It is important to realize that the divisions are not isolated entities and members from each division are not only permitted but encouraged to take part in the activities and operations of the other divisions. Rather a members division represents their primary interest within EVE and their main method of contributing to the corporation. Corporation organizational structure Corporation Organizational Chart Chief Executive officer: As the head of the imperial foundry the CEO makes the final call on all Corporation decisions. The Chief Executive Officer is also responsible for the appointment of members to new positions within the corporation. If a position within the Imperial Foundry is vacant the responsibilities of the position fall to the CEOs until they appoint a new member to the position. Under normal circumstances a CEO can only be replaced by the existing CEO voluntarily stepping down and appointing there replacement. However in the event of an extended absence from EVE the board of directors will vote on a replacement CEO from amongst the corporation leadership. Auditor General: The Auditor general is responsible for the internal security of the corporation. It is there primary responsibility to monitor the corporation's assets and ISK reserves to protect against theft or embezzlement. The Auditor General is also tasked with creating an effective and secure corporate hanger system. The Auditor General reports directly to the CEO and can be appointed or replaced only by them. 4

5 Director: The three directors each head one of the corporations divisions. They also make up the board of directors, a Body tasked with advising the CEO of the needs of the corporations' membership. As head of a division each of the directors is responsible for the organization and command of operations that fall within their division's specialty. The directors are also charged with taking any issues the members within their division have to the CEOs attention. The CEO is free to appoint or dismiss people from any of the three permanent director's positions as they see fit. However new director level positions can only be created in such a way as to ensure that there is always an odd number of people in the board of directors, this is to prevent a tie in any voting situation. Managers: Managers are long serving and experienced corporation members who are charged with assisting both the CEO and their respective directors. Whilst the responsibilities of a manager will vary in each division their primary task is assisting the director of there division in their tasks. Managers are appointed by the CEO on the recommendation of a director. The CEO may create as many additional manager level positions as they deem necessary. Members: The members make up the majority of the corporation, they are people who have successfully passed there probationary period as an applicant and selected a division to join. Applicants: Applicants are pilots who have applied to, and been deemed worthy of joining TIF, They remain applicants for a probationary period of one month during which there level of activity is monitored. Once the probationary period is over the applicant will be promoted to a Member. In addition to the above positions the CEO may appoint members to fill a specific role i.e. Fleet Commander at any time. In the event of such an appointment being made an appropriate announcement will be made outlining the new position and their role within TIF. 5
