1 Support Groups The local support groups section has information written by each provider or taken directly from the individual provider websites. To make sure the information is accurate we would always recommend contacting the provider directly before attending a group. You are not alone. There are local networks to help parents with disabled children to get in touch with each other and meet up. Your GP or hospital specialist may be the first person you meet who can refer you on to places where you can get more help. Or you can contact the Family Information Service who should be able to find you a local support group that will be suitable for your needs. Find information on short breaks in your area, child care and support for your family Buckinghamshire Family Information Service / 161
