Get your ISA off to a fying start
Guaranteed ISA Best of both worlds Wouldn t it be great to break free from low ISA rates and take advantage of any stock market growth without the usual investment risk? Well now you can with our Guaranteed ISA. Make the most of your ISA allowance Making the most of your savings is important and financial experts agree that one of the best ways to do this is by saving in an ISA. As all returns are free from personal tax, you should always be looking to use as much of your full 11,520 ISA allowance as possible. But with so many ISA options to choose from, it can be daunting finding the right home for your ISA. Which is where we can help. A different kind of ISA Our Guaranteed ISA is designed to help you and your savings take advantage of any growth in financial markets during the good times. At the same time it provides you with peace of mind guarantees should the markets take a downturn. In other words you get the benefit of the good times and you re protected from the bad times. Giving you more It can be the ideal choice for those looking for more than the average interest rate offered by Cash ISAs over the medium to long term. Benefit Fixed Rate Cash ISA Guaranteed ISA Protection at set points Stock market growth Unlimited growth potential No fixed term No withdrawal fees Use 11,520 ISA allowance ISA transfers allowed Monthly saving option Lump-sum investments Unlike a Cash ISA, which provides security at all times, this is not an interest rate investment and the value of your Guaranteed ISA can go up and down. Although there are no withdrawal fees, if you access your money at any other time, other than on the guarantee points, you ll get back what your investment is currently worth, which may be more or less than you invested. The value of tax benefits depend on your individual circumstance and tax rates could change in the future. Our Guaranteed ISA is a Stocks and Shares ISA.
Take control... Putting you in control When you choose Police Mutual, you re in control of your money. Peace of mind guarantees You ll know your money is safe at set points with our unique Double Guarantee. Low starting amounts You can set up an ISA with as little as 1,000 or choose to save regularly from as little as 40 a month. Or do both it s your choice. Hassle-free regular payments You can set up a Direct Debit or pay directly from a Police salary or pension (in most forces). And you can stop and start your payments at anytime. ISA transfers You can transfer any of your existing ISAs across at any time. You can even start a new Guaranteed ISA by transferring an existing ISA across to us. As long as it is at least 1,000. Easy top up from 1000 You won t find another ISA like it As we only look after the interests of the wider Police Family, we design our products and services around your needs. Which is why you won t find an ISA like it from a Bank or Building Society. It s not surprising a record number of savers chose Police Mutual as the home for their ISA in ISA fact 1 You can save up to 11,520 inside an ISA before 5 April 2014 and any returns your savings generate will be free from personal tax. So for a couple that s 23,040. ISA fact 2 If you don t make the most of your ISA allowance before 5 April 2014, you can t roll it into the following tax year. If you don t use it, you lose it. We ve made it simple for you to top up your Guaranteed ISA by phone or online, as and when you have a little extra to put away.
...and set your savings free Everyone loves a guarantee When you choose our Guaranteed ISA, you get the benefit from our unique Double Guarantee. It both protects your money and locks in any growth your savings achieve at set points. Find out more You can find out how the Double Guarantee works in detail in the Key Features section of the Important Information brochure. If you don t have a copy, you can download one from our website or call us and we ll happily send one out to you. The Double Guarantee 1If your money has grown in value at the first guarantee point, then this growth will be locked in. So this will be your new guaranteed value at your next guarantee point. 2However, if markets have been unfavourable and the value of your savings has been affected, we promise to restore it back to its original value at the guarantee point, or as we call it, the safety net. Already used your ISA allowance? No problem. We can accept ISA transfers so there s no need to wait until the new tax year to start your new Guaranteed ISA. And as our dedicated ISA Transfer team look after the whole process, you can sit back and let us do all the work. To find out more and open your Guaranteed ISA, call us or go online today: Call Visit policemutual.co.uk/isa

ISAs made easy Your mini ISA guide Do you know what a Stocks and Shares ISA is? Do you know how much you can save inside an ISA? Get to grips with the ISA basics. What is an ISA? It s a way of saving or investing with any returns being free from personal tax, so you get to keep more of any returns. Financial experts agree that everyone should look to maximise as much of their full 11,520 ISA allowance as possible. Can I transfer an ISA? Yes you can transfer between ISA accounts but there are restrictions and it can be complicated. If you are considering transferring your ISA to us, we d be happy to talk you through these restrictions. What types of ISAs are there? You can open a Cash ISA, which is a deposit account that pays an interest rate. Or a Stocks and Shares ISA which invests either directly or indirectly in shares. This type of ISA is usually more risky but can provide better returns than a Cash ISA. How much can I save and invest? You can save and invest up to a maximum of 11,520 in an ISA within this tax-year (6 April April 2014). You can invest all of this in a Stocks and Shares ISA. Or you can put up to half of it ( 5,760) in a Cash ISA and the rest in a Stocks and Shares ISA. Can I take my money out? You can withdraw money from your ISA anytime and all returns will be free from any personal tax. However, some ISAs may have hidden withdrawal fees or penalties so make sure you read all the information carefully before opening your chosen ISA. To find out more and open your Guaranteed ISA, call us or go online today: Call Visit policemutual.co.uk/isa Police Mutual Assurance Society Limited (PMAS) is an incorporated friendly society authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Registered office: Alexandra House, Queen Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire WS13 6QS. For your security, all telephone calls are recorded and may be monitored. GISGUIDE04 WEB 1013
