3 Our History The turn of the millennium was a momentous time. Just as the world was about to enter a new era, so was grand format digital printing. XL Digital opened its doors in 2002 with big plans for the future, and even bigger plans for delivering superior quality, and high performance products. 6 Dye Sublimation We can now apply your full color graphics to many different fabric types and polymer-coated substrates for both indoor and outdoor use. Dye inks allow for a wider color gamut, brighter and more vibrant colors than conventional inkjet. The combination of dye inks and fabrics play directly to the senses, with eye appealing rich colors and the touch and feel of high-end quality. Fabrics can also be finished in many ways, including silicone edges (SEG) that can be easily snapped into frames, light boxes and displays for quick set-up or change out. Fabrics are generally lighter weight and can be folded without creasing, leading to lower shipping cost and ease of transportation. Dye sublimated fabrics are also odorless and more environmentally friendly, making them more suitable for schools, hospitals and malls.
