Use space-saving snapshots to reduce capacity requirements Creating full copies of production data has been a common practice to assist with backup, recovery, and testing of application environments. As information continues to grow, the storage requirements and costs associated with this practice have escalated, as have the capacity requirements to support local replication activities. Today, the use of space-saving snapshots provides a much smarter, more affordable alternative for protecting and re-purposing production data. Specifically, the space-saving characteristics of logical snapshot copies allow organizations to more quickly and effectively leverage replication capabilities while minimizing the traditional costs and capacity requirements that go along with them.
