As we w i n d d ow n t o t h e fi n a l d ay s b e fo r e t h e e l e c tion, I wan ted to take a m o me n t t o b re a k t h ro u g h t h e cl u t t e r and remind you why I will make a great State R e p r e s e n t a t i ve fo r D i s t r i c t 1 7 B. VISITING WITH SENIORS SPEAKING TO STUDENTS LEARNING ABOUT LOCAL ISSUES
WHO IS DAVE? Tr ustworthy Balanced Qualified As a senior citizen, I trust Dave to make my concerns a priority! - Kaye Jacobsen Dave has a balanced approach to improving education, roads, and jobs for all Minnesotans. -Dee & Mel Paradis Dave has the experience & skills needed to best represent us in St. Paul. -Bruce Vogel Friend to Education Led the community in raising $400,000 to provide technology to WHS Believes in putting our students first Job Creator Small business owner who knows how to create jobs. Believes state revenue is created with more jobs.not more taxes! Excellent Collaborator Seeks collaboration between public and private sectors to solve problems. Promises to create local bi-partisan boards to discuss issues and legislation. Family Values Dedicated husband, father, & mentor. Pro-life defends the unborn Mental health & addiction advocate
SENIORS AND STUDENTS! ARE FOR DAVE! Dave will protect the Greatest Generation by: Ensuring Minnesotaʼs disabled and elderly receive the funding and care they need. Dave listens and cares about senior citizens in a manner we trust. He wants the very best for all Minnesotan s with balance and reason. -Robert & Audrey Krengel Supporting home-based caregivers and nursing home care providers who care for the elderly and vulnerable adults. Opposing unnecessary intrusions including the attempted forced unionization of childcare providers and personal care attendants. Finding legislative solutions that attract quality doctors and health care professionals to Greater Minnesota. Dave will fight for our children s future. Support higher standards for teachers and let s reward our very best educators with better pay. Let teachers teach by preventing expensive, unfunded mandates that could hurt classroom sizes. Make education a priority by keeping effective teachers in the classroom, ensuring each child has a chance for academic success. Support Local Control: Accommodate flexible, local control of our schools by parents, teachers and school board members without more intrusion by state government. Equalize Education Funding: Secure more equitable funding for rural schools that average only $10,000 in per pupil funding compared to $14,000 for the Twin Cities. Dave Baker will use common sense and a balanced approach to properly fund and support a better education for our children. -Gayle Marcus, Teacher MN Department of Education, General Fund State Aid and Levy Revenue ; 2014 End of Session
WORD ON THE STREET DICK SCORE TRUSTED As a health care provider, I have seen our Democrat controlled legislature roll out a confusing, failing healthcare system that is hurting access for our seniors, children, and families. I trust Dave Baker to get it on track so our loved ones can find the affordable care they need. My husband and I worked with Dave a number of years ago. We learned a lot from Dave and his leadership style. He taught us how patience, listening, and mentoring others is how to be successful in business and in life. Dave would do anything he asked anybody else to do. We couldn't imagine anyone more dedicated and committed to represent all of us in St. Paul. COMMITTED GAYLE MARCUS The success of our students and their teachers has taken second place to an overreaching bureaucracy at the state level. Dave Baker has confidence in our local school boards and staff to decide how we can best serve our unique student population. Dave will use common sense and a balanced approach in managing our education spending. Enough of the red tape! Let's put students first and allow teachers to teach! Dave has lived in and supported this community for nearly 20 years and has demonstrated his ability to bring people together to address the needs of our community. He is a hard working and compassionate husband, father, business owner, and leader. I m with Dave because I can trust him to make the right decisions for district and our state. I m a Democrat and I m with Dave. COMPASSIONATE DAN MOHS TRACY BUCHTEL BALANCED KAYE JACOBSEN As a senior citizen, I have never seen such careless and wasteful spending while pushing private sector jobs out of our economy. I am concerned about where law makers are leading Minnesota. I respect and trust Dave as a committed leader who will oppose wasteful spending. Leadership matters. RESPECTED
VOTE FOR DAVE! TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH! Minnesota needs a balanced legislature to restore common sense decision-making. This November we have a chance! I m asking for your vote November 4 th so that I can work to bring common sense and balanced solutions to St. Paul to create a prosperous state for all Minnesotans. I d love to hear from you: phone: dave@davebaker2014.org Learn more: davebaker2014.org Connect: facebook.com/davebakerfordistrict17b Prepared and paid for by the Dave Baker for House Committee, th Ave SW Willmar, MN 56201
