1 Title III Professional Development Activities Survey PIMS Collection 1 October School Year Participant Outcomes Explain the importance of accurate LEA data for federal reporting and program compliance Restate the connection between Title III and the required professional development activities Upload the required PIMS template and associated data fields for the Professional Development Activities Survey Report accurate LEA data related to Title III professional development activities for SY Report accurate LEA data related to counts of educators participating in Title III professional development activities for Purpose of Data Collection Track all professional development activities supported by the Title III grant and the number of participants benefitting from the professional development. Ensure compliance with the required professional development component of the Title III grant. Meet the federal reporting requirement 3 1

3 Reporting LEAs The following LEAs who were funded with Title III during SY must report: School Districts Charter Schools Comprehensive CTCs (These LEAs are only required to submit the Professional Development Activities Survey if the LEA was a Title III subgrantee or Title III consortia member/lead during the school year.) 7 Reporting LEAs All LEAs who accepted Title III funds for SY are required to complete the Title III Professional Development Survey during the October 1 PIMS collection: Single subgrantees Consortium members Consortium leads who are also members 8 Title III Professional Development Requirement According to NCLB Title III Part A Section 3115 (c) (2) (A) (B) (C) (D): An eligible entity receving funds shall use funds To provide high quality professional development to classroom teachers (including teachers in classrooms settings that are not the settings of language instructiona educational programs), principals, administrators, other school or community-based organizational personnel that is-- 9 3

Professional Development Survey This survey was previously collected in egrants. Complete template if LEA was a Title III recipient as a single subgrantee or consortium member. Data reported in Category 3 is for the school year and is collected during the October 1, 2014 District and School Enrollment PIMS collection. If you are a Title III consortium member, contact the consortium lead for accurate data. It is the responsibility of the member district to report their individual professional development activities and counts. Refer to the PIMS Manual Volume 1 for more information.
