Started Team Web ('93), the collaborative campus-wide effort to create and maintain This grew to the base UT Austin web presence of over one million pages on 400+ servers ( 99). Appointed by R. Dan Burck, Executive Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs to direct the strategic planning for Management Information Systems for The University of Texas System. The responsibilities included providing leadership for The University of Texas institutions to exploit technology to share facilities, reduce duplication and to provide better services. The University of Texas System consists of nine general academic and six health care component institutions with more than 147,000 students and 60,000 employees. Provided desktop computing, network services and telephone services to executives and staff of the UT System Administration ADVANCED SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES, INC. El Segundo, California Vice President Technology Recruited by S.P. Panzarella to manage development and provide technical marketing support for this start-up venture. The software product was MAGIX, an integrated transaction processing system based upon personal computers on a local area network. Also served as Vice President for Product Development for Science Dynamics Corporation, a computing service company providing professional fee billing services and software for the health care industry. Stabilized the new primary product THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER AT SAN ANTONIO San Antonio, Texas Executive Director - Information Technology Promoted in 1986 by Robert B. Price, Executive Vice President for Administration and Business Affairs, to head the Department of Information Technology of this health care education institution that included a Medical School, Dental School, Nursing School, School of Allied Health, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Provided strategic direction and management for voice and data information delivery and processing. Supported academic and administrative computing as well as library technology infrastructure. Developed institutional business support using an integrated database. All business applications, either institutional or departmental, used this database through several thousand programs.
