The grandmother of one of the victims is a former church employee and she stated she thought he was really trying to help the children. The

2 2 of 7 1/17/2014 7:03 PM signed it. grandmother also stated she is in a legal dispute with the pastor because once they came forward with the allegations against him, he quickly sought to reclaim the deed to a house he had given her in September of Pastor Durant stated the woman signed the deed back over to him but she argues the signature is false because she never He ll do things for you. He ll give you money; he ll help you in anything. He lures you in like he really likes what he s doing but there s always something behind it, she told reporters. All I want is justice done, that s all. Justice done, says the woman. Durant faces charges for forging a quit claim deed and filing it the Sumter County Register of Deeds. Source ( UPDATE on June 26, 2013: Pastor Larry Durant may be out on bond but the Sumter Sheriff s Office is actively investigating other possible victims of his alleged abusive behavior. News reporters visited the home of Durant and spoke to someone inside but they would not give any information or open the front door of the home. We will update you as the story and investigation unfolds. UPDATE on June 24, 2013: The scandalized pastor was released from prison on a $120,000 bond until his court date. The surety bond total is for eight charges, which include those from the Sumter Police Department of two counts of second degree criminal sexual with a minor between the ages of 11 and 14 and four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The Sumter County Sheriff s Office has also charged DuRant with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Pastor Larry Durant of Word International Ministries COSC (Church of a Second Chance) in Sumter, SC was recently arrested and charged with sex crimes against minors of his church. News reports stated according to a news release from the Sumter Police Department, 58-year-old Larry Durant has been charged with: two counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor third degree criminal sexual conduct and forgery The local police say they investigated the allegations when victims and their families came forward and stated the minister was using his position as a leader in the church to sexually coerce young girls. He claimed all of this was part of some healing process and private prayer. Just another manipulation coming from a no good minister. The victims say these incidences happened at the Word International Ministry Church and at the home of the reverend. Reports say:

Police believe there may be other victims out there. Durant is currently being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
