The undergraduate degree in business administration is also offered at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar. The curriculum is jointly instructed at the Pittsburgh campus and Financial District campus in New York City. The MSCF degree is offered by the Tepper School in conjunction with the Mathematical Sciences department, the Department of Statistics and the Heinz College. 6 Background Founded in 1949, the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University pioneered the field of management science and analytical decisionmaking and is recognized as one of the world s leading institutions for management education. Throughout the school s existence, its faculty and research centers have generated impactful research for academia and the marketplace and remain among those with the highest rate of academic citations. The school s other notable achievements include the roster of nine Nobel laureates; rankings that have been on the rise for several years; a global renown for analytics and big data; and one of the most innovative, creative business school entrepreneurship centers in the nation, whose present-day contributions exceed 250 new companies and 9,000 jobs. Initially known as Carnegie Mellon s Graduate School of Industrial Administration (GSIA), the school was renamed the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon in 2004 in recognition of a generous gift by alumnus David Tepper, the largest gift of its type at that time.
