31 CSU Long Beach NURSING AND STEM MAJORS Nursing and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Applicants will be admitted based on STEM index which places additional weight on quantitative skills. Strongly recommend applicants complete additional math courses beyond the minimum required. Math through the senior year. Admission to Nursing must meet minimum 3300 STEM Index. Admission to Nursing and STEM majors will be to a pre-major status. Continuation in the major will be subject to meeting specific lower division requirements at CSULB that indicate the student s ability to succeed and complete the major. Pre-nursing students must apply to the Nursing Department to be considered for admission to the major at the junior level.
