12 CS enrollment is falling The percentage of graduates who earned credits in high school computer science classes fell to 19 percent in 2009 from 25 percent in 1990, making it the only subject among science, technology, engineering and mathemavcs courses to experience such a drop, according to the U.S. Department of EducaVon
13 Not Enough Teachers It s been shown that students positive exposure to CS in high school correlates to majoring in CS in college. Unfortunately, only 1 out of 10 schools in the U.S offer programming classes. Our high schools fail to offer CS because there are not enough qualified CS teachers to meet demand.
