Expand opportunities for schools to capture grants from local sources, state and federal government and private foundations. a. Establish a clearinghouse through the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Department of Natural Resources to disseminate grant information identifying potential funding resources. b. Identify potential funding sources and opportunities to provide training for grant writers. c. Pursue ways to inform alliances through collaboration with other agencies such as conservation organizations, wildlife and hunting organizations to strengthen funding applications and opportunities. d. Encourage cooperative grant applications which would involve school districts, state agencies, regional offices of education, colleges, universities and other appropriate agencies. 2. Objectives: 1. Bring awareness of non formal education s unique opportunities and programs available to formal classroom principals and educators and provide a linkage between what is being taught in the classroom and non formal opportunities to enhance classroom lessons. a. Establish a centralized database (resource guide), divided into regions, of non formal programs/organizations/websites outlining available activities or upcoming events and site locations that can be accessed by formal educators.
