27 Consulting Services Student Assessment, Program Evaluation, and Curriculum Management (All on a Single Platform) TM XComP (extensible Competencies Platform) is a cutting-edge, patentpending technology that is redefining competency-based student assessment and program evaluation. XComP s method utilizes microcompetencies as the building blocks of competencies. XComP attaches microcompetencies to the assessments administered within a program to visualize, in real-time, how their students are performing. Comparisons can then be drawn across cohorts, and even nationally, for student and program evaluation purposes. XComP supports the instructional approaches used most often: Lecture Problem-based learning Case-based learning Laboratory Simulation Practicums and clinical experiences Online learning XComP is also compatible with most testing, curriculum, and clinical management technologies. Whatever the instructional approach, XComP maps assessments to learning outcomes and competencies. XComP normalizes student performance across all assessment methodologies to provide a composite, authentic assessment of the individual student and cohorts of students. XComP helps faculty identify student learning gaps and correct deficiencies in real time. With the touch of a button, XComP gives students daily feedback on their performance in specific competency areas. XComP provides administrators one simple tool for curriculum mapping, student assessment, and program evaluation. A variety of reports can be customized for program improvement and accreditation reporting. xcomp.net 25
