The purpose of this contract is to reduce alcohol and drug use among youth in Redondo Beach, El Segundo, Santa Monica and Venice through individual level interventions and policy changes at the school and community level Consultant, The Lloyd Society, Los Angeles, CA Analyzed data for the study entitled Examining the Health Impacts of Reuniting Incarcerated Women with their Children. The purpose of this study was to determine the relative impact of the Chowchilla Family Express (CFE) program for incarcerated women, their children, and families in California. The CFE was a free transportation program delivered by the

2 Center of Restorative Justice Works (CRJW) in partnership with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Project Director, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA Responsible for managing the day to day tasks involved in overseeing the study entitled An Experimental Comparison of Telepsychiatry and Conventional Psychiatry for Mentally Ill Parolees (National Institute of Justice, PI: David Farabee). This study is designed to compare the effectiveness of Telepsychiatry relative to face-to-face sessions with regard to satisfaction with treatment/therapeutic alliance, medication adherence, session attendance, psychological functioning, and recidivism Data Manager/Qualitative Researcher, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA. Provided quality assurance of the data and conducted qualitative interviews for the Criminal Justice Drug Abuse Treatment Studies Collaborative (National Institute on Drug Abuse Grant DA16211, PI: Michael Prendergast). The major goal of this project is to collaborate with other CJ-DATS research centers in establishing a research infrastructure to develop and test implementation strategies for introducing evidence based practices into correctional and treatment settings Qualitative Researcher, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA. Conducted focus groups and analyzed focus group data for Four Models of Telephone Support for Stimulant Recovery (National Institute on Drug Abuse Grant DA18208, PI: David Farabee). The major goal of this project is to compare the efficacy of four low-cost, telephone support protocols for patients who have completed the intensive phase of a structured, outpatient stimulant abuse treatment program Project Director, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA. Managed the day to day tasks involved in overseeing the study entitled Enhancing Follow-up Rates Through a Rechargeable Incentive Card (RIC) System-Phase I. (National Institute on Drug Abuse Grant DA025387, PI: David Farabee). The major goal of this project is to develop a national network that supports a rechargeable incentive card (RIC) system designed to enhance follow-up rates and to assess the feasibility and commercial potential of the system Project Director, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA. Managed the day to day tasks of TOWAR: A comprehensive Training on Women s Addiction and Recovery (National Institute on Drug Abuse Grant DA022101, PI: Nena Messina). The purpose of this Phase I Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) project is to develop TOWAR: a comprehensive Training on Women's Addiction and Recovery specifically for use in drug courts Project Director, The Lloyd Society, Kensington, Maryland. Managed the day to day activities involved with overseeing the study entitled Diverting Women Offenders from Prison: An Outcome Study of Health and Well-Being (California Endowment Grant , PI: Nena Messina). This study evaluates the quality and effectiveness of treatment services received by women participating in the Second Chance Re-entry court program in Los Angeles County compared with women who were sentenced to prison.

Managed the day to day tasks involved in overseeing the study entitled Enhancing Substance Abuse Treatment and HIV Prevention for Women Offenders (National Institute on Drug Abuse Grant DA , PI: Kimberly Bond). This study evaluates the effectiveness of a women-focused (WF) treatment program based on relational theory compared to standard mixed-gender (MG) outpatient treatment to promote positive behaviors among 150 women offenders (e.g., HIV risk reduction and substance abuse, and increased psychological functioning) Qualitative Researcher, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA. Conducted focus groups and analyzed focus group data for Emergency Management for Disruptions in Methadone Treatment (National Institute on Drug Abuse Grant DA , PI: Deborah Podus). The purpose of this project is to examine disaster preparedness for and response to disruptions in methadone treatment in the aftermath of natural and other disasters. The focus will be on treatment disruptions due to hurricanes in five Gulf Coast states. The project will examine the direct and indirect impacts of disasters on methadone treatment delivery and explore disaster preparedness and response at all levels of the treatment system federal, state, and local Consultant, Virginia Commonwealth University/George Mason University. Collected survey data and evaluated three drug court programs for a CJ-DATS national study entitled Information Technology Transfer in Drug Courts: Pilot Test of the ecourt System (funded by NIDA/OJP) of drug court MIS systems. Analyzed data using SPSS and prepared site reports for each program Data Manager, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA. Provided research support and data management for the study entitled Evidenced-based Principles of Treatment: A Meta-analysis (National Institute on Drug Abuse Grant DA016601, PI: Frank Pearson). The purpose of this study, conducted in collaboration with National Development and Research Institutes, was to test prominent principles of effective treatment through the application of meta-analytic techniques to research evaluations of substance abuse treatment programs Projects Coordinator/ Study director for IPASS, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA. Coordinated activities for the Criminal Justice Drug Abuse Treatment Research Studies (CJ-DATS) collaborative and managed the day to day activities for the IPASS study (National Institute on Drug Abuse Grant DA16211, PI: Michael Prendergast). The purpose of this cooperative agreement was to establish a research infrastructure in order to develop and test models for an integrated approach to treating offenders with drug abuse problems. The cooperative involved a partnership between researchers, criminal justice professionals, and drug abuse treatment practitioners. Projects under this collaborative included: Transitional Case Management (TCM), Inmate Pre-Release Assessment (IPASS), Performance Indicators for Corrections (PIC), Targeted Interventions Components (TIC),Co-Occurring Screening Instrument for Criminal Justices Populations (CODSI), National Criminal Justice Treatment Practices Survey(NCJS),and the Integrated Community Correctional Outpatient Addiction Treatment (Step'n Out).

Provided research support for the study entitled Impact of Welfare Reform on Access to Medical Care, Mental Health Services, and Substance Abuse Treatment for CalWORKs Participants with Alcohol and other Drug Use Problems (California Policy Research Center CNN10K, PI: Deborah Podus). The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of welfare reform on access to and utilization of health care services medical care, mental health services, and substance abuse treatment among persons with substance abuse problems who participated in the Los Angeles County California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) welfare program Research Associate, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA. Provided research support for the study entitled A Policy Analysis of Proposed Changes in Federal Methadone/LAAM Treatment Regulation (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Grant #041676, PI: Deborah Podus) The purpose of this study was to examine the factors leading to the reforms in federal regulation of opioid treatment providers that were promulgated in January 2001 and to examine the impact of the federal regulatory reform initiative on states regulatory policies Project Coordinator, UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, Los Angeles, CA.
