1 Home Care Ontario The Voice of Home Care in Ontario TM 2015 Annual Report Chair s Report As Board Chair of Home Care Ontario, I am pleased to present the 2015 Annual Report to the membership. Every year the Association reports to the community outlining the work done to bring membership issues to government, the media and our many stakeholders. As Chair, I want to recognize and thank our dedicated Board members for their willingness to take leadership roles, to chair Board committees and contribute so diligently to the thoughtful work of the Association. Home Care Ontario continues to establish a strong web presence with over 2400 followers on Twitter, strong traf ic on the website and regular communications that keeps the membership current and the public connected with our work. Our papers and presentations are focussed on supporting the development of a comprehensive and robust home care system in Ontario. This spring, the Association moved to its new public of ice in McMaster s Innovation Park and the opportunities this will afford in terms of visibility and presence will also extend our outreach. Home Care Ontario continues to be highly visible and in luential in contributing to the health transformation agenda of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. I am especially proud of the commitment of the Board in its presence and input at many meetings and communications with Assistant and Associate Deputy Ministers, the Deputy Minister and the Minister of Health and Long Term Care. We have been, and continue to be, very busy in informing the decisions that will improve and extend the quality and quantity of health care in the community. I know that I am joined by my Board in thanking our CEO, Sue VanderBent for her leadership as well as Nancy Cupido, Ruta O Grady and Marg McAlister for their expertise, energy and enthusiasm. We are very proud of our team and their hard work on our behalf. Finally, I thank you for your continued support and guidance as we continue to expand our role as the voice of home care in Ontario. Warm regards to all. Christine Reno Chair 2015 Annual Report

4 CEO Report On behalf of the Board, I am proud to present this Annual Report to members. This year, Home Care Ontario has once again demonstrated signi icant health system leadership. The Association successfully responded to the demands of ensuring that home care issues were pro iled in the 2014 provincial election and has established strong ties with the new Minister of Health and Long Term Care, the Hon. Dr. E. Hoskins and other key elected representatives as well as the Deputy Minister, Dr. B. Bell and his new team of Associate and Assistant Deputy Ministers. The Association continues its important outreach to other provincial associations and organizations to inform and educate government about the role and value of publicly funded home care for Ontarians. Home Care Ontario is also a strong voice for the public's right to privately retain private home care service from reputable service provider organizations. Home Care Ontario has welcomed many new members in the past year. These new members bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the Board. New membership growth is a signi icant sign of increased Association visibility and presence in the health care system. As CEO, it is a continuing honour and a privilege for me to represent Home Care Ontario and to advance home care issues for the bene it of all Ontarians.
