1 SENATE ELECTIONS - ALUMNI CANDIDATES VOTING PERIOD: June 15-26, 2015 (Vote for up to 2 candidates) REBECCA LEUNG COMSA Industrial Engineering (Hons.) (2008) Rebecca Leung Comsa is the Regional Process Manager at Expeditors Canada, a third party logistics company. She is currently pursuing her Professional Engineer designation (PEO File #: ) and is CCS and IATA certified. While in school, Mrs. Leung Comsa excelled both academically and socially. She graduated with honours and was the recipient of, amongst other awards, the Aileen Clark Lambie Women in Engineering Leadership Award, and the Academic and Extracurricular Award, both from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Ryerson. As well, Mrs. Leung Comsa was the President of the Industrial Engineering course union and a co-founder of the Ryerson chapter of Engineers without Borders. She was also involved as a engineering representative for the Eye Opener student newspaper. Today, Mrs. Leung Comsa is a strong advocate for young women pursuing engineering degrees and is the creator of the Leung Comsa Women in Engineering Scholarship, first awarded in Mrs. Leung Comsa also believes in promoting active citizenship and mitigating diasporic issues. She volunteers on Planning Committee for the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, an organization that engages new Canadians, and on the Steering Committee for the Mosaic Institute China-Tibet Dialogs, an organization that challenges young leaders from diasporic groups with imported conflict to find a common ground. She was recognized for her efforts with the Mosaic Institute with the 2014 YMCA Toronto Peace Medallion. Mrs. Leung Comsa is also highly engaged in her neighbourhood and serves as a Waterfront Festival Committee member for the Humber Bay Shores Condo Association. Previously, Mrs. Leung Comsa also served on the executive committees for public art galleries and events including Soundstreams, Gendai Gallery and Art Toronto.

2 MARC PAUL CYRIL Industrial Engineering (2001) Working in the Humanitarian field of rehabilitation of war victims, Mark had to advocate rights of minorities, LGBT, women rights at all government levels as part of the communications and advocacy team to promote women s rights. He has outreached to stakeholders from parliamentarians of different political spectrum to senators to government officials, international delegates and different Non- Government Organization to bring attention to Climate Change issues, poverty and environmental pollution. Mark has engaged in panel discussions with legislators, lawmakers and members of the bench in regard to social, political and economical issues related to the advancement of Canada s role in third-world countries. He served a one- year term as Assistant Secretary to Local for CEIU of the PSAC, and one-year term as President of Local 0210 National Component for PSAC. He is a member of Global Women Movement and Greenpeace. He also served for two years as member of Ryerson University Academic Council (1999 & 2000) as well as a one-year term as a member of Ryerson Students Administrative council. 3 M. EBRAHIM POULAD Mechanical Engineering (2009) M. Ebrahim Poulad completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in He joined Ryerson in 2005 as an undergraduate student in Industrial Engineering; then, he received his Master s in Mechanical Engineering in His past leadership experience includes (but not limited to): Bargaining committee member at CUPE (Unit 3), Ryerson Graduate Students Representative (RGSR) in Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS) and Ontario Council for Graduate Students (OCGS), RU representative in Canada Green Building Council (CGBC). 4 MEGHAN RODRIGUES Journalism (2003) Meghan graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Journalism degree in While at Ryerson she served as a member of the Senate Appeals Committee. After graduating in 2003, she continued her postsecondary education at Western University and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree in At Western, she was a member of the International Law Society and a student representative on the Faculty of Law Appeals Committee. After graduating from Western, she articled at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP and was called to the bar in Ontario in Meghan then attended the University of Toronto where she completed a Master of Laws degree in She is currently employed as the Prosecutions Coordinator at the College of Nurses of Ontario where she works to regulate nursing in the public interest. In her role, she balances safe patient care and the human rights of individual healthcare providers.

5 RYAN RODRIGUES Business Management I Certificate (2003) Ryan Rodrigues is the Director Development and Recruiting in Executive MBA Programs at the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Ryan has worked in higher education and educational advancement for 15 years. Previously, Ryan served as the Associate Director in Alumni Relations at Western University where he managed a team responsible for regional and international outreach to alumni. Ryan was a member of the University Senate and Board of Governors at Ryerson University and is currently volunteering with Legal Aid Ontario, the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Tennis Canada, Hope Air and others. Ryan earned a BA in Psychology and English from Huron University College and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at Western University. He also completed the Governance Essentials Program, Integrative Thinking Executive Program from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto as well as the Stanford-Rotman Corporate Governance Program. In addition to his active contribution to the Executive MBA Council and the Canadian Council for the Advancement in Education, he is a member of the Institute for Corporate Directors, Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Canadian Professional Sales Association and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
