Wound Care Clinic and Consult Service Dr. Aimee Garcia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Geriatrics Section at Baylor College of Medicine and the Program Director for the Geriatric Medicine and Clinical Wound Care Fellowship Programs at Baylor College of Medicine. She is the Medical Director for the Wound Clinic and Consult Service at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. Dr. Garcia is the immediate Past President of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, and Past-Chair of the Public Policy Committee. She is also Past Chair of the American College of Certified Wound Care Specialists. Dr. Garcia is currently serving on the Board of Director s of St. Dominic Village Nursing Facility. L. CARL HAGWOOD Hagwood Adelman Tipton, PC Carl Hagwood is a shareholder and founding member of Hagwood Adelman Tipton, PC. With over 40 years of active medical malpractice and nursing home litigation experience, Mr. Hagwood is the senior litigator of the firm s Aging Services practice group. Mr. Hagwood has defended general casualty claims, medical malpractice claims against physicians and hospitals and medical negligence claims against nursing home and assisted living providers in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, Colorado, and Florida. Donna is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of experience managing the complex clinical and nursing needs of residents in skilled and long-term care facilities. She received her Masters of Nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and is currently pursuing the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Texas Christian University. Donna serves as Director of Clinical Services with Geriatric Associates of America, P.A. Her responsibilities include training for the Nurse Practitioners, transitioning the medical team into facilities, quality monitoring for the Practice, and consultation services to skilled and long-term care facilities. EDWARD R. NORIEGA Edward is a Partner at Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan LLP concentrating on insurance coverage matters, particularly in the area of Cyber Liability, Technology E&O, EPL D&O. He represents insurers in all aspects of claims handling and coverage issues relative to first-party and third-party Cyber Liability coverage and has experience handling Cyber Liability claims relative to health care providers and long term care facilities (as well as other industries). Edward s extensive experience includes the drafting and evaluation of Cyber Liability policies as well as complex exposure assessments of first-party and third-party claims. J. ROSLYN LEMMON Cowan & Lemmon, L.L.P. Roslyn is a partner with Cowan & Lemmon, L.L.P. in Hahnville, Louisiana and her areas of practice include civil litigation involving long-term care liability, premises and products liability, automobile liability, medical devices, medical malpractice, construction industry liability, state and federal workers compensation, maritime law and employment law. 4 JONATHAN D. RUBIN Mr. Rubin is a partner practicing in the areas of Medical Malpractice, Professional Liability, and General and Products Liability defense litigation. Mr. Rubin represents hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, psychologists, social workers and other allied medical professionals in civil litigation matters through trial in state and federal courts in New York. In addition to the representation of licensed professionals in medical malpractice and other professional liability claims, he has represented physicians and other medical professionals in disciplinary actions before the New York State Department of Health, Office of Professional Medical Conduct and the New York State Department of Education, Office of Professional Discipline. Mr. Rubin has also worked closely on a variety of medical device and pharmaceutical matters in State and Federal Court. 5 STEVEN D. WEINER Steven is a partner at Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan LLP in New York, New York and practices extensively in the defense and counsel of skilled and assisted living facilities. He is a 1982 graduate of St John s University School of Pharmacy and a licensed Pharmacist in the State of New York and thereafter obtained his J.D. in 1985 from St. John s University. He focuses his practice on the defense of medical professionals in medical malpractice and negligence actions, with a focus area in skilled nursing, assisted living, home care and ancillary services provided to the Aging. Steven has monitored or directly defended in excess of 1000 cases throughout the United States concerning claims against long-term care providers, including taking many such matters to trial. He has served as national counsel for several prominent insurers in the long-term care industry, retained to audit the internal files of insurance companies who specialize in this area and has been an invited speaker at many seminars and before many facilities and healthcare organizations focused on aging services, including most recently speaking at the 2013 ASHRM Annual Conference and Convention. Bivins Foundation Mr. Kendall is a professional in the long-term aging services profession providing managerial oversight and leadership to private, for-profit and non-profit retirement communities over the past 15+ years. Mr. Kendall is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University (1998) with a Bachelor of Science in Health Professions with a major in Long Term Health Care Administration. Mr. Kendall is also a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator in the State of Texas and served the Mary E. Bivins Foundation in various capacities over the past 14 years. As the Director of Health Services, Mr. Kendall oversees the operations of eldercare division of the Mary E. Bivins Foundation. Mr. Kendall has also volunteered his time as Board Members of the Better Business Bureau and Leading Age Texas for the majority of his career. He has a passion for seniors and a love for people. He currently resides in Amarillo, TX with his wife and two daughters. TYLER O CONNOR CRC Insurance Services, Inc. Tyler is a wholesale broker for CRC Insurance Services Inc. specializing in professional liability. He has helped lead his company's efforts to expand its presence and influence in the Cyber Security & Privacy Liability marketplace while speaking regularly to associations and retail organizations on the topic. He has twice served as faculty speaker at the American Conference Institute s Data Risk & Cyber Forum in New York City, and has lectured the American Association of Managing General Agents, NAPSLO & Troy University's E&S Insurance Symposium, and the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents Association on the topic of Network Security & Privacy Liability.
