3 About Us UCLA Physician Informaticists are board-certified practicing physicians in various medical specialties. In 2013, UCLA Health successfully implemented one of the largest Go-Live of the Epic electronic health record (EHR). UCLA Health has been recognized for its achievements in health informatics: Achieved Stage 7 designation in the inpatient setting by HIMSS Analytics within the first year of EHR deployment Successfully demonstrated Stage 1 Meaningful Use for both inpatient and outpatient EHR use within the first year of implementation Achieved Leapfrog Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) certification Designated Most Wired by Hospitals & Health Networks UCLA Physician Informaticists are: Board-certified in their specialties, board-certified or board-eligible in Clinical Informatics, and Epic-certified in Ambulatory, ASAP, Beacon, Beaker, Inpatient, OpTime, Physician Builder and Stork Experienced in supervising as well as directly building in Epic, including TXT environment Trained in nursing, research and other non-physician workflows Presenters at annual Epic conferences Experienced in small-to-large implementation projects

5 UCLA Physician Informaticist Services Perform overall evaluation of the project plan in the implementation of the Epic EHR Act as liaisons between your physicians and IT team members to understand current workflow, determine optimal workflow, and understand implications of build decisions Train physicians in preparation for Go-Live, support physicians during Go-Live, and teach optimization classes to physicians after Go-Live Make recommendations on complicated medical student and resident/fellow workflows Develop workflows that adhere to regulatory and financial reporting programs such as Meaningful Use and Core Measures Analyze efficiency and use of the EHR to identify areas of optimization, including use of clinical decision support tools Provide advice on the newest features of Epic to determine the value of upgrades and enhancements
