2 About California State University, Northridge (CSUN) CSUN s 171 academic programs and centers enjoy international recognition for excellence. The university partners with more than 100 higher education institutions in 22 countries and attracts the largest international student population of any U.S. master s level institution. The David Nazarian College of Business and Economics one of largest business schools in the U.S. is accredited by AACSB, the world s largest network of business schools. The undergraduate degree programs in the College of Engineering and Computer Science are accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). The Tseng College of Extended Learning specializes in creating graduate-degree and professionally focused certificate programs as well as English-language and college-preparation instruction for international students. 4 Earn a degree or a professional graduate certificate from California State University, Northridge CSUN Admissions Information FOR FRESHMEN Students attending a college or university for the first time can apply if they meet the following basic criteria: 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) English-language proficiency scores of 5.5* on the IELTS, 61 on the TOEFL ibt, 45 on the PTE Academic, or 5.0 on the itep FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS Entry requirements for graduate programs vary by department. Typical minimum requirements include the following: 3.0 GPA in the applicant s previous university degree program English-language proficiency scores: 6.0* on the IELTS or 79 on the TOEFL ibt, 58 on the PTE Academic Note: Graduate departments may require higher scores than the minimums listed above, and some departments require separate departmental applications. 10 Live on campus as an active member of the CSUN community International students enjoy access to campus facilities and services, such as the library, the Student Health Center, computer labs, our Wi-Fi network, Student Recreation Center and Valley Performing Arts Center. On-campus Housing Furnished two-bedroom, apartment-style units are available on a first-come, first-served basis on the CSUN campus. Immigration Services Our staff offers one-on-one help with student visas as well as other required documentation throughout your stay at CSUN. Academic Support Services We not only provide assistance with enrollment and registration but also help you select the courses with the credits you need to earn your degree. Our staff provides ongoing IEP academic and student-life counseling, as well as an orientation to help new students familiarize themselves with CSUN. The TOEFL/IELTS exams are offered on campus monthly and our students receive advanced registration. Special Activities and Excursions All IEP students take a tour of Los Angeles that includes a shopping experience. Optional trips to popular destinations, such as the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, San Francisco even Hawaii can be arranged. 10
