Bernet Elzinga (and others) ECTS: Students develop clinical interviewing and diagnostic skills. The course provides exposure to psychopathology syndromes via tapes and clinical interviews. The final part of the course is designed to provide basic skills in administering and interpreting standardized tests in the areas of intellectual assessment and personality assessment. Instructors: Willem Heuves (among others) ECTS: Lectures on basic treatment aspects such as case formulation, treatment planning, treatment monitoring and evaluation. Training in basic therapeutic skills, such as handling a psychotherapeutic relationship, formulating a treatment plan, monitoring and evaluating the process of treatment, treatment termination Cognitive-Behavioural Interventions Instructors: dr. Nadia Garnefski & dr. Véronique de Gucht (among others) ECTS: Lectures on general aspects of cognitive-behaviour therapy and specific interventions for different forms of psychopathology. Training in basic cognitive-behavioural interventions, such as, case formulation, exposure, response prevention, and changing negative thoughts Applying these interventions as an apprentice therapist with one of the fellow students Instructors: prof.. dr. W. v.d.. Does (and others) ECTS: evaluation of cognitive models of emotional disorders, including panic disorder, generalized anxiety, social anxiety and depression. aim is to review cognitive factors that play a critical role in causing or maintaining dysfunctional emotional states. reviews recent cognitive models of anxiety and depression. Covers research methods commonly employed to study these phenomena, and recent therapeutic innovations based on this research.
