Monthly Trauma leadership meeting to utilize opportunities for incidental teaching. Consults to other units and facilities. Communication: Promotes and maintains collaborative relationships and open communication channels among the staff and outside area Trauma Centers. Forwards information from the Department of Health regarding State Trauma Advisory meetings and other materials and details as needed. Fosters effective professional relationships with other departments and members of the health care team. Fosters regional trauma concept with community hospitals. Quality Management: Monitors clinical outcomes and system issues related to quality of care delivery. Develops quality indicators, audits and case reviews, identifying trends and sentinel events and helping to outline remedial actions as needed. Maintains Trauma Center policies and procedures; revising such as necessary. Communicates new/revised protocols with appropriate personnel; orients new trauma team staff to policies/procedures, protocols for trauma Tracks and trends QA audit filters on the trauma registry. Reviews all deaths and complication on the Pediatric Trauma Service Weekly Morbidity and Mortality, Weekly QA Review Council meeting, Monthly Medical Examiner conference, Monthly Trauma Nursing QA Council (case review for QA) Trauma Registry Management: Manages the operational and personnel of the trauma program. Represents trauma program on various hospital and community committees to enhance and foster optimal trauma care management. Co-Supervises the Trauma Registrars. Develops processes for validation of data and designs the registry to facilitate performance improvement activities, trends reports and research while protecting confidentiality. Oversight of data collection for various sources as well as data extraction and quality assurance of data integrity. Receive weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Is involved in research selection, analysis and distribution findings. Facilitates protocol design for accurate data collection, feedback, and analysis.
