1 Rural Substance Abuse Partnership (RSAP) State Profile: OKLAHOMA Overview: The Rural Substance Abuse Partnership (RSAP), organized with the help of a U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs BJA Congressionally Mandated Award in 2004, was formed to improve understanding about rural patterns of drug abuse. Nineteen rural states across the country plus the District of Columbia make up RSAP. Substance use-related data includes: state demographics, use & abuse, youth, treatment, trafficking & arrests, and injury & death. For more complete information, visit I. The first release of total population estimates at the end of the calendar year includes demographic components of change (births, deaths, and migration). Later releases include population data by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin and give numbers for single year of age, different age groupings, and median age. These data are estimates of the population of the 50 states and the District of Columbia as of July 1 of each year. Downloadable datasets available http//www.census.gov/popest/states/ II.
