7 , As a pioneer in cyber insurance, John has made critical contributions to the development of this fast-paced product. He manages our cyber insurance and technology E&O team, with underwriters in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and Washington DC. Before joining, John was the assistant vice president in charge of professional liability at CNA, where he managed a portfolio of cyber and E&O insurance with a focus on the technology industry. Before that, he held various underwriting, audit and accounting positions at Gulf Insurance. John s insights on cyber insurance have been published in many articles, and he s a frequent speaker at industry events. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the Adelphi University in New York. 7
8 , Scott began his insurance career in 1989 at Chubb, underwriting multi-line commercial accounts. In 1991 he moved to the brokerage side and began brokering products to the global technology industry. He was present at the beginning of the internet explosion and the development of the insurance products around it. Scott became a frequent speaker at technology industry tradeshows and assisted in the development of one of the premier programs of insurance for small and middle market technology firms. From the Y2K scare and into the development of products for cyber risk coverage, Scott has been involved with the industry throughout its evolution. 8
9 John is regarded as an authority on privacy and data security issues by the majority of the largest insurers in the U.S. As a natural outgrowth of his earlier career in medical data computer systems (as well as substantial experience in mass tort), John developed, and continues to help the insurance industry develop, the cyber market. He devotes a significant portion of his practice to evaluating data privacy risks, regulations, responses and resolutions. He manages first- and thirdparty risks arising in the world of privacy and data security for insureds, brokers, risk managers, underwriters, product specialists and professional claims personnel. John serves as a data breach coach/advisor, providing consultation services to insureds (both pre- and post-breach events) addressing data breach events, including computer forensics, notifications, call centers, public relations, crisis communications, fraud consultation, credit monitoring and identity restoration. 9
