1 Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting Pre-Calculus (Math ) Required Catalog The Bachelor of Science degree in accounting program provides students with broad training in the field of business in addition to intensive preparation in the field of accounting. Every organization tracks its revenues and expenses, and the knowledge acquired from Chapman s accounting degree program will open doors to opportunities in every organization and industry. The bachelor s degree in accounting coursework provides students with the basic preparation to sit for the CPA and CMA exams and many other related certifications. Graduates of the accounting degree program from the Argyros School of Business and Economics will have the skills to find professional opportunities as public accounting (CPAs) in industry, government, and not-for-profit organizations. Common careers include external or internal auditor, tax accountant, managerial accountant, consultant, fraud examiner and many others. Accounting provides the basic lingua franca upon which all successful enterprises thrive, and hence knowledge of the field is required in every business from large to entrepreneurial. 2 General Education Requirements The GE program at Chapman reflects the University s mission to provide its students with a personalized education of distinction that leads to inquiring, ethical, and productive lives as global citizens. We therefore encourage students to individually shape their GE program to provide the most benefit for their educational journey, using it to develop new areas of knowledge and to make connections across courses and disciplines between their GE and major.
